new to Forum

Hi All :)
I am not new to the forum but yet I am. I came to this site to read how everyone is doing , but never left a message but I need some help getting motivated to stay away from candy and junk food. I was with WW and did good for awhile then :?: I don't know what happened must have just given up. I am at my highest weight 203 pounds and dont like it. Have type 2 diabetes and today my doctor told me to loose weight or end up with serious health problems. Having to buy big clothes to cover your fat isn't fun for me anymore so starting today I want to start posting and help get myself and others motivated
with everyones help I know I can do it
Thanks Rose

Hi Rose, I know honey, it's never easy to lose. I've always had a problem and there is no easy way. You just have to make up your mind to do it! It's not will power it's "DO" power. I'm a nurse and I can tell you how horrible diabetes is. It affects almost every thing in your body. HORRIBLE disease. And in lyour case, maybe preventable. A lot of type 2's are controlled with diet and exercise. Diet helps with the blood sugar and exercise makes the muscles more receptive to the insulin you are already producing. You really want to do all you can to prevent it.

I know we are all worried about our looks, me included, and you will be slimmer, trimmer, have so much more energy. I'm older, lots older, but if you want a buddy for encouragement and accountabality you can e-mail me. I'm sending you my e-mail by post

If you don't that's ok. Just give it all you've got girl, it's so worth it!

whoopw, just looked at your bi0. I'm not THAT much older than you after all! At this age I always just take it for granted that i'm older than everyone!

Hi slim me
Thanks for the encouragement and info.I got your e mail but it didnt give your e mail adress so I couldn't answer you back. I have been fighting diabetes for a long time but was tested only 3 years ago and then they had me on meds that made things worse. I finally found another doctor and he took me off everything ,told me to test myself 3 times a day and had me go on a diet. That lasted for awhile and then back to the old habits till now. This last week watching my portions and walking again I lost 3.5 lbs and I am now at 200.0lbs. and very happy. My challenge is to loose 2 lbs a week and have lost at least 20 lbs by christmas.
Thanks again for the encouragement Rose

Hi Rose:

I too am a weight watchers member. My brother has diabetes, and I was diagnosed with Low Blood Sugar. I changed my eating habits and finally got a test on my glucose that now my Blood Sugar is normal. I cant go back the way of eating though, or I might end up with Diabetes and all my weight would come back for sure. Yes, the slim me is correct, its "Do Power", very good way of wording it, I had never thought of it that way. I sent you a private message with my e-mail if you would like to be a buddy. I better go for now, got some more web sites to check out.

Chat later,
Lisa

HI Rose, I sent you another message. I hope this one gets through! I have a couple of grandkids that I babysit with also. Between working and keeping the little ones, wouldn't you think that would be enough running? Hoping to hear from you soon,
