  • I'm cutting and pasting my reply to another new comer because I do think you can find lots of what you need right here at 3fc.....

Here's my tip. Go get a big bottle of cold water or a diet pop and pull up a chair. Go to the top of the page and choose 'three fat chicks on a diet weight loss community'. Scroll down and read all the headings and subheadings of threads. Read everything that looks interesting. When you've had a good peruse of everything these forums have to offer, go back to the top and click on 'new posts'. Just keep reading. Read or answer any posts that appeal to you. You'll find folks who are sympatico.

I highly recommend the exercise accountabilty threads. People just like you and me do this everyday!
  • Hi Butterfly! Are you a Christian? If so, try taking the free online course called "The Lord's Table" at settingcaptivesfree.com. I'm on day 7 now, and boy has it opened my eyes to a new way of thinking about food!

If you're not...well, the support of the ladies (and gents!) here should help you out!
  • Thank you christy and susan I will look at these when i my children in the bed or in the am when they are off to school. I am desperate right now and I will try to do anything. I am hoping for the best here . Thanks for your help.

  • Hi Butterfly50: I'm a big fan of Dr. Phil's emphasis on figuring out what the "payback" is from not losing weight and eating healthier. The current issue of Woman's Day (dated 9/13) has a great article called "Dare to Dream". It teaches you how to become your own "dream coach". Although the principles are specifically for losing weight, I saw a lot of ideas for how to put a plan into action. For example, "conquering your doubter", or in other words, figuring out what you do to sabotage yourself. Similarly it has ideas for becoming aware of what gets in your way of reaching your dream.

So much of weight loss is mental -- once you get the mind in gear, the body and actions follow.

I wish you much success in your weightloss journey.
  • Thanks Ladies I will have to check these out.
