Greetings everyone! My name is Abby I weigh 202 pounds. I was married in September 4, 2004 when I weighed 170, and obviously have since put on 32 pounds! Ideally, I would love to get down to 150. I am a tall girl (5'9) and I have a large build. I am just looking to be healthier. As of now I am on day 3 of a reduced calorie diet, and I am doing very well so far. I am trying to keep my calories around 1400 and when I start excercising (when my back quits hurting from the extra weight) I will probably eat between 1600-1800 calories. I look forward to meeting new people. Thanks!
Welcome Halieous!
You seem like you have a good game plan. having your DH support is definately necessary. I just love the fact of having someone around that loves me regardless of my size. But, I am sure being married yourself, you are well aware of that. If you want some support I am here for you. Cause trust me, I too can use the support also from someone who can completely relate.
Thanks. I get great support from my husband. (Even though he's never weighed over 160! Not fair!) He is cooking my meals for me and storing them in tupperware, since I can't cook to save my life. He has tried to show me but I am just not interested in cooking. Everyone in my family says that when we have kids I will learn to cook, but I believe that's what microwaves are for! haha. My DH is very quick to point out foods that I'll probably like, so I feel very lucky. We started dating in our senior year of high school, and I weighed easy around 140. We have been together for 9 years, and he still puts up with me fat and all!
I am just trying to remain positive about it. We took my before pictures last night and I was quite depressed after looking at them. It is amazing how your mind can trick you into thinking you look okay, when in fact you look pretty scary.
I know exactly what you mean, my husband has never weighed over 170 pounds. I too started seeing my husband in high school, in our freshman year. We actually got married the summer before our senior year. We have been together for close to 13 years. Young Love!!! Your husband seems so sweet, to cook your meals for you and store them that is just so sweet. I guess we are two of the lucky few who have great men!
I know what you mean about pictures, I graduated from college last week and got the pictures yesterday, talk about scary. I feel awful just looking at them. But, like you said, gotta remain positive. Trust me, I am trying. It is nice to have someone to chat with who completly understands. Well, I think that is enough rambling from me. Have a good day!

awww how sweet!!!
We just went grocery shopping last night, I bought $100 in groceries, just for me eek! but they'll last a while.
What kind of diet plan are you following? Have you done any excercise? That is going to be my Achilles heel is excercise, because here in Pensacola, even though it is 91 degress outside, it feels hotter because of the humidity. So sometimes it feels like 98-99! I am going to try to lose 10 pounds before I start excercising because I don't want to hurt myself, and it will be easier.
What do you find most difficult about losing weight? (me- I have a hellacious sweet tooth)
I plan on doing the grocery thing tonight. I usually buy what I need, and my husband picks out everything he wants. It works out well.
As for my weight loss plan I pretty much eat whatever I want, I just watch portions, or try to anyways. I have successfully lost 160+ pounds pretty much just counting my calories and exercising. I try to stay at around 1400 calories a day, but no less than 1200. When I am good, I exercise atleast 6 days a week, always starting with cardio and ending with weight training. So, hopefully I will be able to lose the last 70 pounds. Ahhhhh that would be wonderful. I have just been sitting on a huge plateau lately, not budging an ounce.
We seem to have the same sort of weather pattern here in Maryland, 90+ degrees with very high humidity. Yuck!! I love exercising outdoors, but with the humidity it makes it too difficult. So I am stuck indoors at the gym or at home working out.
I can completly understand about wanting to lose 10lbs. before starting to exercise, but a good thing to do before starting heavy workouts, is swimming. Very easy on the body. In fact that is how I got started at 402 lbs. What an ugly bathing suit that was!! But seriously, it felt so good. Made starting cardio workouts much easier.
I too have a major sweet tooth, but my biggest problem is I eat healthy things, but I have tendancy to eat too many portions of them. What I mean is, I will eat one apple and want another like 30 minutes later. Healthy or not the calories add up. But, above and beyond, my biggest downfall would have to be ice cream. I will buy the sugar free, or the low calorie stuff, but again I do not stop at one. Defetes (sp?) the whole purpose. Well I have babbled on long enough, I am going to register for some summer classes, so I will chat with you again later.
