Trying to find my place

Hi! I've been lurking around 3FC for about a week now but have had a hard time getting "into" the groups that are here. It seems like you already all know eachother! So I finally got the bright idea (doi) to post an introduction here to start really getting involved in this wonderful site. :)

My name is Jenamarie, I'm 23 y.o. living in Washington state (born and raised in California though) married 3 years and am the momma to one sweet little pixie, Raia Noelle, who is just shy of 10 months. When she was 6 months old I finally got down to my pre-pregnancy weight of 175lbs. and really got my gut in gear (literally) to start dropping the pounds. I was a size 14/16 for a decade and I was getting sick of it! Since mid-March I've lost 25 pounds and am a size 8 for the first time in my life! I read Dr. Phil's Weightloss Solution book and it really changed my life. I finally feel like I've been freed from my need to eat to deal with my emotions. It's very liberating. :)

As far as the changes I've made in my life: I eat lots of whole grains, fruits and veggies with meat only occasionally (maybe 2-3 times a week, max.). I workout at Curves 3-4 days a week and work out at home the days I don't go to Curves, except for Sundays when I allow myself a break.

I cannot believe I've dropped all this weight so fast, but I still have 10 pounds to loose to reach my first goal, and I deffinately cannot allow myself to slack off now that I'm so close, which is why I'm so excited to have found this site!

So I think I've written enough! Can't wait to get to know all you wonderful loosers! ;) (weight, of course)

I'm the sort that never finds a spot, I just kinda jump in when a topic grabs me. I'm not sure if I ever did an intro. LOL

Ya, it's hard since I'm not on any specific diet plan. I'm not on Atkins or SB or WW. I'm just kinda doing my own thing. So far I've been hanging out mostly in the 20-somethings forum.

I did my own thing too, just healthy eating and regular exercise. I just started checking out boards and replying to posts and ended up subscribing to 8 boards so far. Too many to keep up with at times.

Xuzi and Kat -- Welcome to 3FC  I'm not on a specific plan either but I know I like to eat right and exercise, mainly weight training and running.... So I've hooked up with Cool Runners in the Exercise Forum, Ladies Who Lift, Maintainers Forum (although I'm not officially a maintainer) but I just love the conversation in there it's very motivating... I also just lurk and put in my 2 cents here and there... Eventually when you've posted often enough the people get to know you and that's fun too... So don't be shy to join in anywhere anytime...
