Just Starting

  • Hi everyone,

What a great site. Loads of info. I have a quick question. I am starting my Life changing attitude Monday but am a little confused as to which program to follow. WW is very good but I hear SB is also very good. Can anyone tell me what they think.

    Thanks

  • Hi

I am also new to this site. I have been doing Slimfast. It has been working out great for me. I am in my third week have already lost 6 1/2 pounds. My weigh in's are Mondays. However I have heard extremly good things about WW. My mom did it for awhile. She did lose some weight with it, but she did love it. The key to any "plan" is exercixe. I walk on my treadmill at least once a day for a min. of 30 minutes. And I try to get out to take a walk around the neighborhood, too.

Well good luck with whatever you decide.
  • Northernmom,
I've done both programs and lost weight on both. I joined the SB website two years ago and did that program for about 3 months. They have a really good website and I lost 25lbs on it but got tired of it after a while. I am currently back on WW - a program I have done several times before. I like the idea of being able to eat anything I want - I just have to count it on Flex Points. I find this program easy to follow and have lost weight on it (65lbs to be exact) in the past. The meetings and connecting to others helps me. Having to weigh in once a week in front of someone else holds me accountable. I think Treadgirl has the right idea - whatever you do, exercise! Being active makes a huge difference. Best of luck to you in whatever you decide!
  • Either of them can help you lose weight. But you stated your "Life changing attitude". So will either be one you can do for life? Cause it's not just about losing the weight, but maintaining the loss. Also, exercise is an important part of both weight loss and maintenance.
  • Hello, Im new here. I just stared today on me me me. I weigh 238lbs. I am dieting for the month of June. By the end of July I WILL be under 200lbs. I am currently looking for a program WW did along time ago. you get so many protiens, so many breads, so many diary, so many fruits, and so many fats per day. I remember I would fill in the bubbles and when they were all full I would be done eating for the day. It worked soooo well for me back then. (a long time ago) I lost 50 lbs. on it. But now I dont remember how many for each food group. Can anyone HELP!!!??? PLEASE!

This is what I think it was, but not sure.

  • Good for you! You are doing the research and making a plan. I like the WW and the SB, but I basically I just eat healthy. I know what is too much (after dieting all these years) and I don't even count calories any more. Exercise is so important. I walk for at least 30 min a day, more if I have time and try to get in extra every changce I get. I park at the back of the parking lot, I always take the stairs, I do squats while i'm stand at the kitchen stove or counter waiting for something. Just little things, but they add up. Also, add some weights for upper body strength. Most of us know how to eat, we just don't!
  • I am going to Weight Watchers and I find that it is easy to follow and that I am losing weight. (I got my 5 pound bookmark last week!) I believe in that old saying "When the student is ready the teacher will appear." I think every plan works for someone. You will see that on these boards. I think it has less to do with what plan you follow than where your relationship with food is at. If you are truly ready to let go of the weight just about anything will work and you will find your way. Just my opinion!
