Newbie Needing Help

Hello everyone....I'm new to this. I'm on my third week of Weight Watchers. My first week, I lost 7.6 lbs, but on my second week, I gained 0.2 lbs. I know that I shouldn't be discouraged, but I can't help it. I want this so badly!!!!! I get weighed in on Friday and I'm feeling scared. I think that I've been doing ok this week, but I'm soooooo anxious. I'm just feeling like I need a little encouragement.

Hi pookypie, welcome to 3FC! Congratulations on the 7.6 pound loss! Don't worry about the slight gain. Much of the weight lost during the first week is actually water weight, so you are likely to gain a little of that back. Just stick with it, and it will even out :) You should expect to lose around 1 or 2 pounds of fat per week. We have a lot of Weight Watchers members here, and a special group of forums to discuss WW topics. Feel free to post anywhere you like.

Good luck, and don't give up!

Hi

Hi, I know it's easy to get discouraged, especially when you think you're doing everything right and not getting the results you want! But hang in there, you will get the results you want. 1-2 pounds a week is realistic. Any more than that and you probally aren't eating enough to get the nutrition you need. Try to think of this as a "Life Time" thing, not a diet. You really have to change the way you think about food. A lot of people can't wait for the diet to be over so they can go back to eating "Normal" Well, that normal was what made you gain weight in the first place! And exercise is so important. You don't have to join a gym (although it is nice) you just have to move more. A brisk 30 min walk a couple of times a day. If you can't manage it all at once, break it up into smaller times, just move. And lifting weights makes so much difference. You don't have to buy a lot of fancy equipment, I got mine at a garage sale! You can get videos and books at the library to show you how.

Just stick in there! Try not to think of it as a DIET! Just think of it as a healthier way to eat!

Hey Pookiepie-

Sounds like we're in the same boat. I recently joined WW for the second time. I was really excited about my first week weight loss (little over 7 pounds). The second week my husband and I went to Vegas for our anniversary...well, after coming back I attended my meeting and had gained almost 3 pounds back :( ...it could have been worse...so I keep on going. Would you like to be support buddies? let me know via post or email
