Smile WW slump! Looking for new accountability! Buddy w/me?

Brand new to 3FC! How cool is this??? I have been on weight watchers for over a year now, and have TOTALLY lost my motivation and enthusiasm! Eek!
I am 44, 5'10". I started out at 263 and am now down to 229. But, I have been at this same weight for almost 10 months. I do credit the meetings for helping me keep it off... but I have a looooooong way to go and nothin's movin' (except the loose skin when I walk ). I need some help, if nothing else just to chat about weight loss in general. All my family and friends are skinny minnies.
I am a homemaker, after many years of being a travelling career girl. So, I have waaaaaay too much time on my hands and not enough hobbies. Any suggestions?
Would be nice to have some things to talk about... so here are my likes:
*Anything entertainment, movies, music, books, plays, tv.. etc. I'm star struck, I know it's stupid, can't help it. I'll lose the weight, then worry about my other addictions, ok?
*Home improvement... my dream is to remodel homes, then rent or sell them.. some day...
*Animals... love them cats and doggies!
*I have 3 step-children, 25-23-17. About to be a grandmother!
*Would love to take up gardening, but don't know anything about it. I have started trimming some trees though, on our much neglected new property.
That'll work for now. Anybody who would like to commiserate, please talk to me! I gained 2 lbs this morning, and going the other way is NOT an option.

I'll hush now

Hi Sass:

I hear you on all of the issues! I too am a WW, unmotivated now for the last couple of years. YIKES! I actually started in 1998, lost 85 pounds in 10 months and have slowly put about 50 of it back on. Bless you for it only being 5 pounds for you. I kept saying what you said about the meetings keeping you from gaining for a long time. Finally, I didn't find I got anything from them but an empty wallet so I quit going last year. I have maintained for the past year so I guess I'm no worse for wear.

As far as similarities, let me see. I'm older than you, 51. I weigh more than you. I've never been a career woman. I stayed home with my kids when they were little by doing home party plan (and being very successful). When they got older, I was elected to my local school board and served 4 years. I have been into mystery shopping and merchandising for the past 11 years.

Let's see what else you mentioned:
I love the movies too. I do checking/audits for a company in California so I do get so see alot of films. I'm a country music fan since we lived in North Carolina for 2 years in the 80's.

Home Improvement: We're always doing something. We replaced most of the closet and room doors with 6 panels a couple of years ago. The only rooms to finish are the ones the boys occupy, but you can't really walk in their rooms, let alone get to their closets.

I would love to invest in housing and then rent out the properties. My husband is very handy. There's not much he can't do. But he's paranoid about "renters" so I guess that will never happen.

Animals: I love them too. I would have bunches, but again, hubby says no. We do have one huge cat named Max.

Kids: I have 2 sons, 24 and 26. They have no girlfriends, no wives and no kids.

I started gardening 2 summers ago. I decided I wanted a perrenial garden out front so that I wouldn't have alot of upkeep. I'm pretty pleased with the way it's going. I tweak it every year, pulling out the stuff I don't like and planting a few new things. Splitting the stuff that needs to be thinned. Now I have a little bench on my front porch and I usually sit every afternoon all summer long reading my mail or a book.

Well to 3FC's. I'm sure you'll love it here. I've been here since July of 2000. I usually hang out over in the 300+ area. You can find it under "Support Groups" if you feel like checking it out.

Best of luck finding that lost motivation. I hope I get mine back too.
