New To This Forum

  • Hello all My name is Brooke and I am new here. I have been on other forums before but found them way to annoying with people fighting over diets etc.
Anyway I thought I would give this one a shot. I have visited this site many times in the past for the great recipes

Ok so I am at 180, started at 205 and am looking to get to 155. I have hit a plateau, and have not budged in over 2 months I am looking to better my diet some more. I still eat way to much crap. I was walking daily about 3 miles, but was seeing no change and gave up (walk took about 40 minutes, did this everyday for over 6 weeks).

Now I am working on my master plan LOL Not looking to lose it fast, as I know the less you have to lose the harder it is to come off, but would like to get down to size by this winter, which I think is really really doable. Of course then there is the eating, I got to give up the crap LOL. Hard to do with 2 kids and a chocoholic husband!

My first place to start is breakfast. having it earlier than 10 in the am and having something more beneficial than a bowl of cheerios. Also something quick and easy. Was thinking Smoothies??????

K have a starting point and need to search the recipes
  • Welcome!! Smoothies are a great choice for breakfast but you need to be careful with what you put in them. A mixture of dark berries (strawberries, blueberries, rasberries etc.) with some skim milk and ice (maybe some protein powder) is a great combo because it is lower in carbs and calories. Try to stay away from putting juice in them because the sugar content and calories goes way up. I eat about 5 times a day: good breakfast at 8am, small snack at 10:30, lunch at 12, small snack at 2:30 and then dinner before 6pm. I don't even walk into the kitchen after dinner because I know that I will, of course, go to the fridge. So far, I stay satisfied all day long and I am now used to not eating anything after 6pm. Sorry for blabbing! You can definitely lose the weight!! Good luck with the smoothies and your continued weight loss!!
  • should i cut carbs?
I signed up to this website today, and I have 50lbs to lose. I have done the Atkins diet in the past and lost 40lbs, but after getting pregnant and having my son, I have gained that back, plus 10lbs. I love carbs, like bread, potatoes, and cereal, but I know how well it worked for me last time. Any suggestions, on how I should start my weightloss?
