New here..gotta do it!!

  • Salutations to all! I am Kelly, and I just found this site today...(man, I wish I wouldve stumbled on it earlier....)
    I would like to introduce myself and say good morning. I am a SAHM....working on losing the weight I gained hmmmmmm 7 yrs ago when I got married?! I have had two children since then and have 65.5 lbs to lose (52 more to go I started getting up three weeks ago in the morning to walk five times a wk, and follow (ok, as much as possible...) the insulin resistance diet. I have polycystic ovarian syndrome and take glucophage 2000 mg. I am also still currently nursing my 11 mo. old son......(which who knows when that will stop ) I am looking for support and others who are working at making a better you...healthier and happier too.

  • Hi Kelly Welcome to the site. I just started posting, the past couple of weeks and it is so nice to have so much support. I'm glad you found it.
    It sound llike you are on the right trackthat is great that you lost some much in 3 weeks. That is about what I lost but it has taken me forever!!! now I'm on a good road though, I am very optomistic and really trying to stick to it.
    I feel like getting my eating and excerising under control is helping me get most of my life undercontrol.
    I hope to see you posting around here.

    Welcome to the boards! Glad to have you here. I gained my weight when I first got married too....about 40 pounds in less than a year right after I got married. That was almost 8 years ago. My kids are 5 and 4 so no breast feeding here though *smile* I am diabetic and also on meds and insulin.
    Glad to see you here! Hopefully we can all support each other and get this dreaded weight off!

    Good morning to you! Thanks for the warm welcome. It is great to have support.....and the loss helps me to continue on my wayward path of self exceptance I too have a mini goal of 10 lbs this month I only have 3.5 lbs to go so I am hoping to maybe get 4 out of it I am going to Disney at the end of the month and a little worried that it might break my walking habit...but realize that even THERE I will have to get up and do it regardless or whether I am on vacation or not. Then there is the walking around the park.....so its all good. It is the eating that I am a little worried about, but I am strong and by then hoping to be at my mini goal (and I have not weighed 223 in a while!) I am just so sick of being fat. Glad to meet you girls!!
