Hello everyone! I'm new here. I just registered today. I am 23 years old, 5'5" and weigh 207. Everything I've ever read states that I should be 120-130 pounds but my doctor says a healthy weight for my frame is 160. So that is my goal. I'm about to start Weight Watchers. Several people that I work with and a few friends are on it and have had success. I've bought the books and the calculator. And I just got a treadmill and weight machine set up in my basement. I'm more serious about this goal than I ever have been. I have asthma that gets worse as I gain weight and I'm the heaviest I've ever been. I know my biggest problem is what I eat when I get home from work. I do well all day and then when I get home I eat anything and everything. Same goes for the weekends. I love to cook so I'm really happy I found this website because I think the recipes will help. And it seems like there are a lot of supportive people in the same situation as me on here. I wish all of you luck!!

HI Sammi and welcome!

I have been doing the weight watchers program also! It really works if you can stick to it. It is basically a program that counts calories (and factors in fibre and fat), and that is the best way to lose weight. The trick is to find good foods that are low in points. I have found that lots of fruits and vegetables are key. Have you ever had spaghetti squash? What about the WeightWatchers cabbage soup? yum yum yum!

Good luck on your diet journey! And feel free to send a PM if you have any questions, or you're looking for some moral support.

As for me I have to get ready for my work out. Ugh! I really don't feel like going today.

Hi Sammi and Annie,

I have just registered and have been looking around the forum and have already learnt a lot.

I am probably 60 pounds overweight, but we use metric here.

I'd love to hear how people do on Weight Watchers, I have thought about joining, but wasn't sure.

Thanks!

Hi all I am classed as a new member too. Did find this site 5 yrs ago and read lots and lots on it. Lost 28 kg then and was very proud of myself. But things change and now have all the weight back. Am starting the G.I tomorrow and hope to be able to stick to it for awhile. I am middle aged and live in Sydney Australia.. But like chatting about diets with any age people.

Good luck and I hope to hear from you all again...Violet aka Shirley
