Pretending to be happy
Hello. My name is Jessica. I am 15 years old 5'7'' and I weigh 196 lbs, and I want to loose at least 45lbs. I have always been overweight, but i never really thought about it until the last time I went to the doctor. I stepped on the scale and was shocked. I couldnt believe I weighed so much. My doctor said i need to go on a diet. Of course, that just made me feel worse. Im tired of feeling sorry for myself, but I have no one to help me. All my friends dont understand what its like to be overweight. I need some one who I can relate to and will seriously help me on my way to a healthy life. I'm looking for someone close to my age and who feels like they need someone to lean on too. We can support each other and lose weight together. I cant do it alone. Im tired of pretending to be happy. Its time to actually BE happy!

Hi Jessica,
My heart goes out to you. Just wanted to say that it doesn't matter how young or old you are, there are many of us on this site that know, and understand exactly what you're going through, and how you feel right now. I can understand that you feel you will have more in common with someone your own age, so why not post on the "teen only" forum, I'm sure there'll be many others there that you can talk to about your concerns, and many who will be more than willing to give you support and encouragement to help you lose weight. Don't forget that we're all wanting the same thing here ... to be happy with ourselves ... and I'm sure you'll find all the help here that you need.
