Looking for ppl doing it the old school way:)
Hi my name is Jessa and I am looking for other ppl for buddies who are doing it simple and keeping it simple and doing just moderated calorie restriction and basic healthy foods..for example I am trying to stay between 1500-1600 calories per day and trying to exercise once a day and not eatting any particular foods or taking any pills or using any special programs..
Its kinda loney doing it this way..lol I am not sure what club on here to join or anything so looking for other ppl just doing simple calorie watching and exercise |
Jessa
I would be happy to join you. I'm doing the 8 minutes in the morning program, which is really not a program..you just have certain exercises to do in the morning when you first wake up and I've changed my portions of food... I'm taking in at the least 1500 calories per day and walking at night sometimes. |
Jessa -
Sounds very close to what I am doing myself. I am doing 1400 calories a day, trying to eat healthier foods. I do yoga almost everyday (I love it) and am trying to make myself do cardio 3-4 times a week. The only thing different is that I am also trying to watch fat grams at dr.'s advice. I admire you for doing the strength training. That is hard for me... However, you supposedly burn more calories when you build more muscle. Do you have a tape for belly dancing? If so, what is it? I'd really like to try that - I think it looks like fun! -Lauren |
I've lost 96 pounds the old school way. I keep lots of fruits and veggies on hand nowadays, and have become a lover of yogurt. And for the first time in my life, for over a year now, I exercise daily. I'm trying to kick in another minor loss though and have just been maintaining, so I've dropped my calories. It fluctuates, anywhere between 1,000 to 1,400 calories per day. Depending on how busy I stay...I eat less if I'm busy.

I too am doing it the old school way..... i stay between 1200-1400 cals a day and go to the gym (try to make it at least 3 times a week) i think a lot of people here are doing the same thing, everyone is different so we all lose weight in different ways...... good luck to ya!!!

I'll join you! I just lost 18 lbs., working to maintain it thru careful (mostly vegetarian) eating and frequent exercise. I am trying to find a nice but affordable health club, since I live in Massachusetts and pretty soon it will be too cold for a lot of outdoor exercising.
Current wt: 129 Hope everyone is having a good week-- Elana |
Me Too!
I'm also looking to do it the old fashion way. Seems as though it's the only tried and true method of long term weight loss. I always end up blowing diets that are restrictive but 1500-1600 sounds like a satisfying daily calorie amount.
If you're interested I'd love to be one of your buddies. Me: __________________ Highest Weight 240 Current Weight 165 Goal Weight 145 Walk, Jog, Bike and Hike |
I'd love to check in too with you all. I've been using calorie counting and exercise to lose weight since August. I've stuck to about 1500 cals a day. I'm a teacher and was exercising a lot before school started. Now I'm finding it hard to fit in, but will try whenever possible. I'm especially interested in all the healthy lifestyle foods and activities you all do. Everytime I read something that AlmostHeaven has written I seem to do better - your advice is great!

They are going as The Addams Family. We can't wait to see the pictures! There is another poster, VermontMom, who is now a successful maintainer. She is a biker chick and uses workout videos regularly. Everyone there has some great imput. Hope to see you soon. |
