Looking for a buddy too...

Hello
I guess I'll start by introducing myself. I am 23 years old, female, newlywed, mommy... well... there are allot of other things I am too, but those are the most important right now. I am laid-back, generally jovial, well-read, computer savvy, and I just started to really enjoy cooking. Why am I on this website? Easy answer is, I need to lose weight.. not just loose weight but have a different life where weight isn't at the center and excuse for everything I can't do. I am 5'2 and 225lbs. My BMI is 41. I have been happy though in spite of that, but another thing I have been is in pain. Lately my sciatic nerve has been flaring up, and my knees sometimes hurt. So even though I was mostly happy (I say mostly because I would sometimes long to be able to go shopping in a store were I would fit into most of the clothes), I decided to get healthy. I don't want diabetes and heart disease, and everything else that I am susceptible too. So about 2 weeks ago, I did allot of research and allot of digging for info, and figured out what I was going to do. I am keeping a journal to track my calorie intake, and my exercise regimen. It has been such a learning process so far, to find out that there are so many things I can enjoy eating and making for my family. I am currently keeping myself at 2,000 calories a day. It sounds like allot to me, but when I compare it too what I was eating before I was probably consuming more than 4,000 calories a day. I also visit the Y 3 days a week, to walk on the treadmill and lift weights. So far in two weeks I have lost 2.5 pounds, which is right on track for me. The other main thing that I am missing at this point is a friend who is on the same track as me. I am looking for the kind of support that someone else who is trying to loose weight can give. I am lucky to have the support of my husband and family too. I feel encouraged and motivated at this point. So in closing, I just wanted to introduce myself and say hi to every one. Keep on keepin on.
