New to this site

  • Hello all!

    Found this site a few days ago and have been interested ever since.

    I figure that the best thing to do is give a short introduction...

    I am currently 34 years old and a post-graduate student in environmental studies and work in the same field.

    Anyhow, I need to lose between 30 and 40 lbs.and that was the motivation for my internet search on this subject.

    My significant other and I were unsuccessful with the South Beach Diet - mainly because we are both constantly on the go and it became really difficult to find the "right foods" while out-and-about. I did lose somewhere in the neighborhood of 20 lbs while following the program (which has not come back yet). We have been off the program since probably around July or so...

    I am hoping to meet people who are generally in the same position that I am. I need some support to stay motivated and I would like to offer support to others as well.

  • Hi there, Sue. I'm curious about what program you will be trying next. I was on SBD and changed to Body For Life. I'm losing very slowly, but that is a step up from a 4 month plateau while on SBD. I think the plan works fabulously for some, and others not so spectacularly!
