Do or do not...there is NO try!

Hi ;) My name is Nikki and I live in Queensland, Australia. I got married last year and managed to lose around 75lbs to fit into my dream wedding gown, and had a perfect wedding. That was 10 months ago. In the last 7 months I've regained almost 35lbs. I'm currently under quite a bit of non-weight related stress and cuz of that I eat too much...then I gain weight and I stress about that too, which makes me eat more...vicious cycle. And it just keeps going. But I'm stopping it today.
I just bought a dog, so no more excuses for not excercising! And I've decided that everytime I feel like eating too much I'll post in here. hehe...u'll probably be sick of me in about half an hour. No...really...I thought maybe this might motivate me to keep on track.
So Hi again...and I hope to get to know u all better in the near future.

;) ;) ;) Nikki.

Welcome Nikki. We would never get tired of you. What kind of eating plan are you following? The key to losing the weight again may mean getting back to the basics. You got married, congratulations, but that means a whole new life and that can be stressful because now you play the new role of wife and not girlfried, but you hang in there and come here as often as you need to, we will all be here for you to encourage and cheer you on. Good Luck and God Bless.

Hi Nikki -I can relate to your weight gain after the wedding. I was married last September and have gained about 35 lbs. since then! I'm actually at the highest I've ever been - YIKES! This week I decided after I could barely zip my fat jeans that the only way this is going to work is if I do it! So, here I am following the Weight Watchers program. I'd be happy to buddy up and provide inspiration.

I think over the years I've tried just about every diet out there, but the only one I ever had any real success with was Weight Watchers. I've been an on again off again member since my daughter was born 6 years ago. I was doing really well with it before the wedding, excercising every day as well. Then I got sick and couldn't go walking for a couple of weeks, and I just seemed to lose my momentum. I panicked a bit then, as I only had 8 months til the wedding, and I'd just bought a dress that was 3 sizes smaller than I was! I went to my my doctor and she prescribed a diet pill, which I lost the rest of my weight on. Coincidentally I lost 35 lbs on it...which I've now put back on. I spent 8 months not eating and focussing on the wedding to keep my mind off being hungry, and when it was all finally over I just lost the plot. (I did however, get into that wedding dress!!!)
But now I'm back to square one. I have to re-learn everything I knew about eating right, and getting back into the habit of counting points is quite scary. I know I can do it...I've done it before. I just have to find where I left my willpower :?:
NantucketBride...I can so relate to the jeans thing!! 6 months ago I was about to throw a pair of mine out cuz they were so big on me, and now I have to lie on the bed to do them up...and of course that's always a good look...NOT! I threw away all my fat clothes and I now have nothing to wear...I don't want to buy bigger clothes because I refuse to give in...but I have nothing that fits me. I'm in a lovely mess lol. Inspiration is exactly what I need right now :)

Hello All! I too have gained weight since meeting my fiance. In and around 40 pounds. I wont even think about getting married til I lose these pounds. I am having some success so I thought I would share. Ive lost 13 pounds in roughly 3 weeks. Ive finally figured out what works for me. When they say that one diet doesnt work for all, they weren't kidding. Years of ups and downs, after trying every diet. Never sticking to one for long, Ive come across and wonderful book. "Eat Right for you TYpe" Its about what you should eat depending upon your blood type. Its not a diet book, its a way of life. My dad is a Type O as well, and he is facing some health issues that could have been prevented if he had eaten better when he was younger. So he sent me the book. It outlines what is ok / neutral / bad, to eat. It has really helped me stay on track. If I wonder about a food, I look it up. Simple. For me it means no wheat, sugar and very little carbs. Ahhh I miss Toast!! Any info I can give to help please let me know.

Yay, way to go IPQ! My dogs look at me reproachfully every time I try to take them for a walk. I bet if they had wallabies to chase they'd think it better fun ^_^
