New girl here!!!

Hello all! I am new to the site... just turned 34, married, five kids and have gained just under 20 lbs in the past three months. Lots of stress, lots of money problems, all adding up.... and it seems that I have turned into an "emotional" eater in hopes of food making me feel better. :?:

I am ready for a fresh start and would love to make some good friends that can help me hold myself accountable for the food I eat; the weight I gain; and the weight I lose.

I am located in the Bryan, Texas area if anyone is close! :D

Thought about Atkins (have the book).. Thought about South Beach (have the book)... need some good critics and opinions on both??? ;)

Looking forward to talking with y'all soon....

Bobbie

Welcome

I hope you come often to this site. It really has good people on it. I tried going two weeks without carbs and could not do it, I barely made it through week one. Pray about your personal problems, you have a Heavenly Father who loves and cares for you. I pray for everyone on this site daily,so know that you are being prayed for. GOd Bless

Glad you're here

Hey there! You'll find lots of information on this site about many different programs, and lots of groups that can give you support. Many people find that Atkins and South Beach are easier to follow than the low-fat programs, but you need to find a program that suits you and WORKS! I am pretty new to 3FatChicks also, but I'm really enjoying reading about how others set and reach their weight-loss goals.

Good Luck!

Hi Bobbie...Another Texan here!

My name is Clara. I just turned 31, have 4 kids, and live just NW of Austin, Tx. I weigh around 185, would love to be 140(or lower). It seems like such a long way to go--very intimidating! I have tried the Atkins in the past, and had some success, but then got pregnant. I am thinking of trying it again--I have got to get on some type of program because I am steadily gaining weight! Would love to have someone to talk with about weight and life in general! :dizzy:

Clara hang in there

Clara I know when you look at what you weigh and what you want to weigh that it seems like never never land, but take it one day and one meal at a time. Set small goals of 5 or 10 pounds at a time and when you reach a mini goal give yourself a non food reward. Just remember that even though it seems like the weight may have come on overnight, it won't come off overnight, but you can do it! You are an intelligent person and deserve to be healthy. God Bless you and good luck.

I am all for South beach its such a wonderful program IMHO teaches you how to eat clean and do it for life. Read the book, lots of good info in there :)

Good luck!

Michelle
