    I just thought I'd introduce myself.

    I've just started a diet with my husband.

    In the past I've been able to pretty much been able to eat what I want and stay the same weight, but over the last couple of years I've started to put weight on and I'm finding it hard to adjust my eating habits. I want to try and get things under control now before I put on too much more weight.

    I'm always tempted by chocolate and cakes and find it hard to go a day without any at all. My husband's problem is drinking too much beer.

    We've done a deal where he's only allowed one beer or glass of wine a night during the week and I'm only allowed one bad thing to eat.

    Hopefully, that combined with going on the treadmill as often as possible will have some effect!

    Just wanted to say hello. I just joined yesterday. I am doing portion control and counting calories mostly. I need to lose about 80 pounds and I am a person who likes instant gratification so I think that will be my biggest struggle.

    Hi Dena

    I know what you mean - it can be disheartening not seeing the results you want straight away. The way I'm looking at it is if I take it slowly but surely and keep seeing those small changes, I am more likely to stick to it and the more likely it will last once I reach my goal.
