Hello!!
I am new here and thought I'd introduce myself! My name is Shannon (Shan) and I am a 24 yr. old mother of one daughter named Kayla. When I had her I weighed 200 lbs the day I gave birth...I now weigh 258! I got right on Depo Provera which I'm sure helped packed the weight on, have been diagnosed with PCOS (and it doesn't help either) and then I stopped smoking...The weight just piled on...and I have a very hard time losing it.
I've been watching Dr. Phil's weight loss challenge and decided it was time for a change. I HATE my body...I hate the person I have become (kinda bitter towards "skinny" people)...and decided only I can do something about it. I have been reading the Dr. Phil book and I am determined this is going to work for me...and I'm VERY excited at the few pounds I've lost already..it gives me motivation to keep going!! So far, all I have done is drink TONS of water...walk EVERY day for at least an hour, and stop over-eating...Which has been the hardest. But I can see it's working..so it's gotten easier! Anyways, I hope to get to know you all. This place looks like a great support stop and I'm glad I found ya!! |
Hi
Hi Shan,
I am also reading Dr. Phil's book. I am trying to make a life style change and I hope that I will never have to diet again if I can just change the way I think about food and exercise. I currently weight 244 and my first goal is to get under 200 and then hopefully on to about 130-140 (I am 5'1"). I need to do this so that I can keep up with my 2 year old boy and also at some point I want another baby, but I don't want to get pregnant again until I am at a normal weight. Good luck with the book. I started reading mine Sunday and I love it. Melody 246/244/199/140 |
Hi Shannon :)
Sounds like you are taking the right steps to losing weight already. This site is really great with lots of good info on the main page and the message boards have lots of people who give some great support and advice. Are you using fitday? If not, I highly recommend it. You can track how many calories you eat, how many you are burning, set yourself goals. You can find it at www.fitday.com. Best of all it's free. Good luck with your weight loss, I also stopped smoking a few years back and put on a lot of weight when I did. |
:) Hi Shan,
My name is Cher and I am the proud mom of a 20 month old girl. I am a Washington State girl. I topped out at 221lbs when my daughter was born, and I have fought for almost two years to get the weight off. I was stuck at 180lbs for at least 4 months and I am now down to 172lbs, and I want to lose between 20-30lbs. If you are looking for a buddy to chat with I would be happy to talk anytime. Hope to talk soon. Cher :) :coffee: |
