New and in need of support
I am starting the Beck Diet Plan using a lower carb diet (not keto, but under 100 carbs a day).
I have been a successful loser of weight in the past - at my highest, I was over 270 lbs, currently hovering at 199, for the past year, basically. I was just diagnosed with severe arthritis in my right knee, not too surprising considering I have a non-functional left hip and my right leg has been compensating for that my whole life. It's left me feeling some hopelessness - it seems like I'm just always going to have an additional challenge that makes exercise harder. I'd like to reach 160 lbs. I look forward to hearing your stories. |
Is TRE (Time Restricted Eating) or IF (Intermittent fasting) a part of your lower carb plan? It has made a world of difference for me. A little hard to get used to, but works very well. And easier if you do lower carb, as long as you make sure you get plenty of fat. that smooths out hunger quite well. (see the book, the Obesity Code, by Dr. Fung)
The weight loss will help your knee, as much as is possible. Blessings and best wishes |
I am looking into intermittent fasting, as it is working well for some friends of mine. I kind of do that already, since I eat dinner early and don't typically eat breakfast until 10:30 or so.
