It's Never Too Late!!

Just wanted to say hello! This week I've passed the two year mark since I officially began tracking my meals on my weight loss journey. I began at 400 lbs (at age of 51) and last week I was 257. My ultimate goal is 225, but who knows.. it might be kind of cool to see if 199 is even possible. That might be too much of a pipe dream, but then I wasn't sure I'd get this far, so who knows?
But for those of you who haven't started yet, I hope I can be proof and/or motivation to show you that it's never to late to start! I haven't woken up a single day in the last two years asking myself "how much longer do I have to do this?"... because I KNOW that any weight lost via deprivation is just temporary. So I feel good about myself and I just decided recently that I kind of now have a duty to start going public and share what I've learned and see if I can start helping other people in any way I can. Seems the decent thing to do.
Good luck to everyone on their journey, and happy to answer any questions!
Frank

Congratulations on your journey so far, Frank.

One and a half pounds a week average is a nice pace.

FrankM, that's marvelous!

There is a new poster named ILoveCats1973 that sounds like she could use your encouragement. She posted recently and is going through a difficult time. Her post is located on the 100 pounds plus sub category. Could you help her?

I posted a lengthy response to her just now. Let me know what you think. Hopefully it'll do some good.

That's wonderful, Frank. I'm sure it will help her to know that there are people who have been where she is now. Thank you so much for taking the time to write to her!

wow Frank - you look fantastic! Great story, and even better that you're now sharing some encouragement around!
Bet you've never woken up thinking the effort wasn't worth it either..

Thanks so much. Completely worth it, absolutely. But in the beginning, as all of us know who've gone through the whole weight loss yo-yo thing before you're never sure. LOL. In terms of helping people I was glad to post that for that person in trouble, I hope they read it and it offers some help.

To that end, I've also in the past week started a blog where I'm posting recipes I've used, and where I'll be posting as many tips and stories about my journey as I think others might find useful. Not sure if it's appropriate to post a link to something like that here, so I think unless someone says it's ok, I probably shouldn't do so.

Excellent, Frank. Maybe private message the admins to see if posting a blog link would be OK? I'm too new on here to know.

You are an inspiration Frank! I just signed up on this forum today and hope we can all find the inspiration we need to keep going, keep trying!

Frank, what you've done is amazing. You absolutely can get to 199.
