  • Hi all! Glad I found this forum... I'm one week into a new eating plan and so far so good. I have a lot of work to do. A devastating lay off from my dream job set me on a big course of self destruction & depression at the end of January. This is the first week I've actually even thought about my health. I'm slowly fighting my way back to normal.
I hope I can find friends to chat with on here. I'm a compulsive obsessive over eater and some days the addiction is so much bigger than me, it scares me.
  • Welcome to 3FC! We're glad to have you!

We have sub forums here for people dealing with specific challenges (like binge eating or depression) that you might be interested in. Some usually have a more active thread that's kind of like a daily chat and support tool. We also have similar threads in other areas (like people who want to lose over 100 lbs, etc.). Take a look around and see what you'd like to try.

Congratulations on starting to take steps to improve your health. That's a big deal and not always easy to do. The good news is that you can absolutely lose weight. If you check the archived threads, there are people who have lost a ton of weight in a healthy manner (one person who comes to mind was about 290 and got down to a normal BMI). It takes time and effort, but it's absolutely worth it and achievable.

What eating plan are you using? We might have a sub forum here for it.
  • Welcome! I hope the job situation looks up for you soon. I hear you on the mental health--I took 6+ months off last year to focus on my own mental health issues and have recently come back to weight loss. It's a tough road for sure.
