Moved and Lonely
I just had to move back in with my parents and I'm slowly losing it. I have a lot of work to do with my thoughts and feelings, and unfortunately my folks can be judgmental and invalidating. They often treat me like a child, even though I got through college, grad school, and jobs alone.
When it comes to losing weight, it's affecting my ability to stay positive. I know attitude is key, and I'm feeling lonely and stuck. I don't have friends here, but hopefully I will find a buddy or two here. I lost and gained weight over the years. My heaviest was 205 or so. I started exercising and quit soda recently at 183. Currently 176, but normal weight is 154. I would ideally love to be 145. |
It's hard to live with the folks, for sure. I did that, also, in my early 20's and it was the same thing- they had their rules and I was expected to follow them, adult or no. I guess that's as good a reason as any to move out on your own as soon as you are financially stable. It doesn't change much, no matter how old you get- I'm in my 40's and when I travel to see my folks it's still "their house, their rules" haha.
3FC I think is a good site to get encouragement, ideas, feedback, etc. So, welcome! |
Thank you so much for your kind reply :) It definitely makes me feel better. I just got a job that will let me save and be fully independent in about one year. Will keep up the good fight.
I see you are close to goal! That's fantastic. |
Thanks- it's been a journey! I love your profile pic of the squirrel and the Superman suit, that's so cool!
