Started here yesterday - Saying Hi here
Most of my stuff is in the 100+ forum. But here is my kind of bio.
My name is Nancy and I am a 61 year old lady who has struggled with weight during her childhood and since the birth of her first child 35 years ago.
Right now I am 258 with the highest at 272 (this journey started at 264 ) and have had many unsuccessful attempts to take it off. My typical loss story has been 20 pounds then stall stall stall for months despite compliance, then I walk away. The best approach was calorie counting using software and a forum community - I lost 60lbs there but regained it during a time of stress - the approach was very complex and required a lot of juggling and logging of foods and, honestly, I don't think it was as healthy as the approach I will be taking because the focus was on balancing the numbers and carbs from bad foods show up the same as carbs from good foods.
I am trying Bright Lines Eating approach because it is so black and white and required me to purge the bad stuff from my kitchen. It also does not give me the excuse on the way home from a long day of dropping off at fast food and juggling calories in My Fitness Pal which never worked. Oh I think there is a lot of hype and a lot of marketing to the Bright Lines plan but I added up the numbers and you know it is pretty darned healthy as far as what you eat and I have not been hungry between meals.
Well, I really am planning on making this work because it would be nice to be light for my senior years! I have money set aside for excess skin removal and when I do get there it will be a treat I will give myself. Right now I am healthy though God knows how but I am very grateful for it. Just fat and flabby.
Looking forward to getting to know some of you.
