Diet sucks and it is hard.
Hi everyone. Sorry to start negative but I am having a rough time. I have always been good at two things. Will power and eating. I just can't do the middle ground well. Now it seems like dieting it's helping me though. I started at 163 lbs January 1. I'm at 160 lbs now. I have had 1 cheat meal ever other week and stayed at 1300 calories every other day. It just seems like I can't lose what I should be.Some days I just want to be fat because it is lwas stressfull. Does anyone have any suggestions for what I'm doing wrong or what you have done. I'm up for anything.

I counted calories and yoyo dieted for decades, literally. It was hard and it did suck. If you are interested in alternatives, the approach that I am finally having success with that doesn't suck is One Meal A Day (OMAD). However, I got to OMAD by slowly shrinking an eating window and I would not suggest going cold turkey to OMAD. There is some reason to think there are benefits to restricting feeding to a much larger window of 12 hours. My husband has success with an 8 hour eating window. On top of OMAD, I have a lot of bits of other approaches mixed in, but OMAD is my mainstay, the big difference, and why it doesn't suck for me.
OMAD is a form of Intemittent Fasting (IF) and you probably want to look into it on your own to see if you are interested in trying it. There are a lot of studies starting to come in (both animal and human) that indicate it might have health benefits and help with losing weight. Here's our OMAD thread on 3FC which has some links you might find interesting. Other alternatives to hard-core calorie counting include low-carb (Atkins and family), Intuitive Eating, and Beck (Behavioral Cognitive Therapy), all of which have threads here on 3FC. Best of luck, I hope you find an approach the works well for you! |

Seems like you intake of calories is on point. what about exercise? Whats your daily exercise regimen? Im a bit stressed out , too, when i see that the numbers arent moving fast enough, with the amount of time and energy I put into exercising and dieting. Are you measuring yourself? Losing inches? Well, let us know so we can try to get more sense of your diet. bye! |

Thank you so much for helping. I walk at least 3 miles a day and do fitness videos 3 days a week. Mostly body weight exercises. I do well during the week. Have my cheat meal on Saturday and it's like starting all over. I know I can be more active. I just feel defeated. |
