Uncoventional Weight Loss

Hello my name is Rose, but please call me Cake. I've belonged to a perfume collector's forum for 7 years and it seems weird to be called anything else on a forum!:dizzy:

I'm on a weight loss journey, and I mean JOURNEY. I'm working on losing 60 lbs, over a course of 3 years! I feel like that is a little strange, because it seems like most people are tying to lose a lot quickly.

I'm 5'ft 4.5' and 170 even...and clinically overweight. I'm 25. When I was 21 I weighed around 120. A lot has happened over the past 4 years that has spurred this weight gain. Depression...anxiety, and then just a happy life with a bunch of gourmands. I love eating, like LOVE.

My breakdown is 20 lbs a year, 10 lbs every 6 months which works to about .4 lbs every week.

Welcome! It's nice to see someone planning slow, sensible weight loss. I'm aiming for 0.5lb/week or so as well. I want to be enjoying life and what I'm eating, and not getting into the cycle of feeling deprived and binging that is so common with dieting. Treating weight loss as a journey makes sense to me too.

That's great to know another person who is trying a diet like mine! :yay:

I would have picked 0.5, but my scale measures only in 0.2, 0.4, 0.6 etc. lol;)

That's a a great goal. I think people over commit themselves in the goal department and then these super high goals which are very hard to achieve don't happen. And then they get discouraged and give up. Good for you for taking it slow. I've learned making one change at a time is the way to go for me, but others seem to be good at cold turkey. I hope you find the best way for you and welcome!

I am right there with you about making it a journey! I have a lot more to lose, but last year I lost about 50 pounds, then I had a heart condition caused by anxiety + anxiety meds and it all led to me burning out and gaining it right back. You can't deprive yourself and slow changes are usually the most long lasting!

Love the plan - and am similar age/height/weight myself. Wanna race? ;) (but not really, because I'm super slow)
