😊
Hello!
I've been a member of 3fatchicks under various guises and identities for many years, and I've always kind of let it fall to the wayside when I gave up on my fitness goals. Here's hoping for success on my current go-around. The older I get, the less I care about being attractive and the more I care about having my body function at its peak levels. At present, I'm focused less on losing weight and more about being as healthy and happy as possible. This time around, instead of steadfast rules and hard lines drawn in the sand, I'm going to focus more on having good guidelines and trying my best to adhere to them most of the time. Here's my game plan: 1. Try to eat only whole, non-processed, plant-based foods as often as possible. Avoid premade things in packages. This goes double for me since I'm also trying to adopt a zero-waste lifestyle and eliminate packaging altogether (especially plastic). 2. Try to avoid soda for health reasons, and caffeine because I'm starting to suspect that it aggravates my anxiety and causes more panic attacks. 3. Drink about a gallon of water a day. This is easy for me at work, but I tend to forget when I'm home. 4. Incorporate some exercise into every day. I used to ride my bike about 16 miles a day, but now that I have a car I'm not doing that anymore. Maybe start jogging again, or pick up a trampoline or jump rope. Also thinking of picking up yoga again. 5. Absolutely NO calorie counting or restrictions. I have a history of disordered eating, and it took me a very long time to escape the mindset that food is the enemy. Food is good. Eating is good. Eating is not shameful, and you should never feel guilty about food. Punishment, restrictions, and "making up" for meal choices is unhealthy and unsustainable. My only focus is on taking care of my body with healthy, tasty vegan food and treating it with love and kindness. Thanks for reading! |
