Howdy Folks

I'm 72, weigh 220 but want to get down into the 140's. 2 years ago I had to go on oxygen. That happened right after I gained about 40 pounds very quickly. I am hoping that losing the excess weight will help get me off the oxygen.

Problem is, I can't get/stay motivated. I have to cook for my husband and can't resist, so I end up eating my diet food plus half of what I cook for him. Hopefully I can find a solution or some willpower or some motivation or something that will help.

Anyway, I'm here so I figure if nothing else, it's a step in the right direction. :D

:welcome: Gizmoto!

I'm sorry about the gain and need to go on oxygen. I wish you all the best with your weight loss!

Do you like your diet food? If it's not something you enjoy eating, maybe you could eat the same as what you cook for your husband, just a much smaller portion that you bulk up with a side of vegetables you enjoy? Or a large glass of milk (if you're a fan)?

For most people, the trick to feeling full is a good amount of fat, fiber, and protein. So making an effort to pair those with your smaller portions of foods you enjoy, could help you create a calorie deficit while still eating foods you enjoy.

Good to have you here!
