Hi everyone, I'm new!
Hey there! I'm Emma. I've been struggling with my weight since I was 15 and started taking medicine for my clinical depression. Years later I'm off the medication, but the weight is still here. My main goal is to start exercising, and make it a regular thing. That's always been the hardest part for me. Obviously I love food, but I can cut out carbs easier than I can start jogging. I haven't even thought of a goal weight yet -- I'm just ready to jump in and get started, hopefully with the support of what seems like an awesome community. Weight loss by yourself is extremely hard!
Thanks for reading :D |
:wel3fc: Emma this is an awesome place for support, search around and stay encouraged :) ... glad to hear someone can cut out carbs easier than go jogging ... I don't jog but I'll take a brisk walk over no carbs any day. ;) I have an extremely hard time in that area :( We were just talking on a thread that I'm on about small goals so if you set your first mini goal at 5lbs down from your start weight that may help with motivation. There are some 2% loss and 5lb loss threads that keep running on here. They're fun, give them a try :) Oh and :congrat: on being off the medication.

Hello and :wel3fc:
:congrat: on getting started :cheer3: |
Hi Emma, I am new too. I have always it seemed had a few extra pounds. Most noticeably after my early 20's. Today is my first day here. I am looking forward to the experience.

Thats great you feel that way! food is the main thing for weight loss, exercise is more health :) I find it easier to exercise so thats awesome you won't have as much trouble. Best of luck!

Welcome! I totally get being easier to cut carbs than jog (I can't even with the running/jogging). The great thing about exercise is that there are so many different ones, you are bound to find something you enjoy (ok tolerate, lol). As I indicate I just flat out despise running. I even did C25K once and ran a couple of real 5Ks and I never stopped hating it, so it didn't stick. However, I find the elliptical much more enjoyable than the treadmill. And I love love love lifting weights and yoga, and even enjoy rowing. Sure, there is still the whole issues of actually getting myself to start exercising each day, but at least I've found one that once I start it is enjoyable.
