Looking for a weight loss buddy with ~30 pounds to lose

Hi All,

I lost 25 pounds in 2014... I had a stressful time last year and gained it all back... I am restarting my weightloss journey... looking for a weight loss buddy who is also looking to lose around 30 pounds...

xopeaceandlovexo 03-11-2016 01:55 PM

OH OOH pick mee!! I have slightly more I want to lose but the goal I am working towards now would be to lose 30lbs by my 28th birthday in October. I want to enter the next year of my life with my weight in check, ready for anything. I have always struggled with weight and have lost and regained the same 10lbs over the last few years and I am finally ready and committed to changing my life for the better! I look forward to getting to know you and be on this journey together :D

There you go:
:dust: :dust: :dust: :dust: :dust: :dust:

Now tell me, what makes to you go off track on weekends? Do you eat out frequently during weekends?

xopeaceandlovexo 03-12-2016 07:43 AM

Thanks!!! We eat out once or twice on weekends. It is that combined with the fact that it is harder to plan what or when to eat because there is no schedule really. I made a decent choice last night and went with buffalo wings :) so yum and worth the splurge in my opinion

willpreventdiabetes 03-12-2016 11:48 AM

Good for you for making the right choice... I have the opposite problem from you.. I work from home... Me in a empty house combined with a stressfuljob makes me munch all day... Weekends are much better as I am busy with housework, grocery shopping and the kids

xopeaceandlovexo 03-14-2016 11:51 AM

ouch working from home would be difficult!!! I would have to limit my temptations for sure but its hard with kids ( or in my case bf) to do so! cheers to making good choices today :carrot:

willpreventdiabetes 03-16-2016 05:09 PM

Was running errands today and resisted going to mcdonalds, taco brll and panda express... All these fast foods were calling out to me... Instead... I came home and had a veggie omelete with spinach and cheese sandwich

xopeaceandlovexo 03-16-2016 05:18 PM

WAY TO GO!!!! :high: that's great. can I just say I love panda express, it was my first job too lol. I sent you a PM confessing I ate a bag of sour patch kids last night, but I just got back from a 45 minute walk with the dog so I feel better about it now :o Sometimes it is SO difficult to resist fast food. So tempting, and I don't even have to get out of the car. Not sure if I want to slap or hug whoever thought of that. Omelets are delicious  sadly mine always turn out like scrambled eggs with veggies

willpreventdiabetes 03-17-2016 02:10 PM

It's good that you admitted to yourself that you had slipped on the meal plan... It helps to put in writing... I feel that the more I admit and acknowledge when I fall off-track, the less I am tempted the consecutive times... Good that you were able to get some excercise in... Way to go!!!!! I like having someone to chat with and lean for support on this up hill battle

Also, I'm unable to send Private messages yet... Will let you know once I have enough posts to be able to send PMs

xopeaceandlovexo 03-21-2016 11:52 AM

Hey how was your weekend?? Mine was great but not eating wise lol. Met friends for dinner & beers Friday night and went to BFs god sons 2nd Birthday party Saturday so I didn't limit myself this weekend and the scale showed it this morning. Back on plan today though not spending any time feeling sorry for myself. I enjoyed everything I ate this weekend :hungry:
but it is officially spring (even though its snowing as I type this) and time to kick my butt into gear :kickbutt:

anjalifit 03-24-2016 04:15 PM

OOOMG i want in!! I have pretty much the same story! I need to lose around 30 pounds that I gained just partying, eating out and being lazy! I do well on weekdays, but weekends really kick my bumm. Love having people to see, but really need to work on my health too. I hate to not be social just because I will always indulge... I'm going with the calorie counting/high protein/low carb plus working out approach. Trying to go to the gym every day... today is my Day 2 - ate well so far and plans of working out are on! Another holiday weekend is coming up... Hoping we all do well!!

xopeaceandlovexo 03-25-2016 08:30 AM

Hello Anjalifit!!!!
Yes please join us
Weekends are my weakness too. My plan for this weekend is to pick one night to drink, and not high calorie drinks either wine or light beer for me lol. I just started using myfitnesspal to log my food and I think that will work well because it not only helps with calorie intake but also keeps track of carbs/proteins/sugars etc. My approach is more of a whole foods lifestyle. I only eat whole grain carbs, lots of veggies, fruits, and meat.
Happy Friday! Lets have a healthy weekend :crossed:

anjalifit 03-25-2016 11:53 AM

Thanks xo! : ) I use fitness pal too...its an amazing app! This weekend is going to be my will-power test.. Tonight meeting up for dinner with some friends, tomorrow all day I have an event i signed up for a while back (includes all you can eat buffet) - so you can see I really need all the will power dust! I don't know if this happens to you but I always end up convincing myself that its okay - live it up and just have a bit of that rice (carbs), the desert (sugar and carbs), the wine .. you'll work it out later anyways.. But man oh man, working out is tough!!! That one piece of desert that I can inhale in 1 minute takes 20 minutes of running to burn off! such a cruel world! :((((( gotta focus though.. weekend, here we come!

xopeaceandlovexo 03-25-2016 01:37 PM

Last weekend was like that for me  I wish you luck and here is all of this
:dust::dust::dust::dust::dust::dust::dust::dust::d ust::dust:

I am hoping that actually logging my food will make me less likely to make horrid food choices over the weekend and less likely to indulge in the sweets my BF religiously picks up LOL. Sometimes I do the same thing, rationalizing bad choices and it needs to STOP! It is ok to indulge from time to time or to take a weekend off every few months but its not ok to sabotage myself with these silly excuses week after week. If I am going to reach my goal I need to have a better ratio of healthy/nutritious:junk. you know what they say - a moment on the lips..forever on the hips. I try to think if what I am about to indulge in would truly elevate or enhance my experience or if I just want it because I'm an adult and I can do whatever I want haha :?: Such a cruel cruel world!!

anjalifit 03-26-2016 09:22 AM

Indeed a cruel world... I did good in terms of drinking last night, just had one glass of wine... I had a shepherds pie at a pub with garlic bread. Yummy! And of course super carby! But I don't feel bad since I did not over eat, had one drink and did not have desert!!! Was so happy at the end of the day! Although I have a big day ahead... Got a brunch to go to and then gotta work out quite alot today!!!!!!! Happy Easter to everyone!

xopeaceandlovexo 03-29-2016 12:00 PM

Hope you had a great weekend! Mine was good we did a lot of things with the dog :) dog park, chasing remote control cars, playing at the neighbors house and went for a few walks. I did log all my food this weekend and stayed under calories which is a win. However on Easter I made some poor choices partly because the grocery store was closed and long story short my neighbor brought over a brownie with maple bacon frosting for each of us then a piece of pineapple orange cake and that was dinner :o but she is the best cook I know and I had to eat dinner....right?!? lol I am back on plan and staying there though, I want to lose a good amount before summer clothes come out because all I truly want is to feel comfortable with my body.
How did your brunch go? Good for you for not overeating  That is an accomplishment in itself because it is so easy to just keep going mindlessly when you know you can be satisfied with just one or two.

I hope you both are having a great week :sunny:

anjalifit 03-29-2016 04:00 PM

maple bacon frosting!!!! pineapple orange cake!! OMG Sooooo delicious! lol I wish I was there. The weekend was good, Had lots of outdoor activity,, at the brunch I had appetizers only and then just danced the afternnoon away. This week I've been preparing for the weekend travels, going to a wedding in Texas. aaah Warmth!!! Ill have to replicate last weekend and dance a lot to burn off whatever carbs i Eat. still thinking about that pinapple orange cake as I type. How far is Maine :P

dragonstar85 03-31-2016 08:32 PM

We're in similar boars and I'm aiming for 30. Welcome aboard.

xopeaceandlovexo 04-01-2016 09:37 AM

Maine is way up in the corner....almost Canada! weddings are so fun!!! I love love :goodvibes Dancing is like therapy sometimes! Dance your heart out :hat: This weekend we are celebrating 2 friends Birthdays. Tonight its out for dinner but BF and I will share a meal so my plan is to eat a little something healthy before we go and have a small amount at dinner. Then tomorrow it is out for drinks but we will be in town and walking a lot. Also we have plans to meet a friend at the dog park Saturday then Sunday we are taking the pup to see his see his sister for the first time since we adopted him which is exciting. I have still been logging all my food and that seems to be helping a lot! Knowing how many calories I have left for the day prompts me to make better choices and really think about if I am hungry or just bored.

Welcome aboard dragonstar!!!

merowi2 04-01-2016 09:31 PM

Can I join in.I have 20lbs to lose and I have gained and lost the same 5 lbs for a year now. Tried for 3 days this week to wean down on sugar and yesterday I ate 12 -14 girl scout cookies,So scale is back up a pound. Why do I sabotage?
I am really really ready to take my bdy back and stop obsessing so much

xopeaceandlovexo 04-05-2016 10:08 AM

Yes merowi2 Hop on in!! I have lost the same weight many times last year!!! Sugar is a hard one to kick!! When I go over the deep end I try not to dwell on it and wallow in self pity. The faster you move on from it the faster you can get back to making better choices for yourself MOST of the time lol. I think I sabotage because there are times when I am afraid that I will give up anyway..so whats the point right? This journey is just as much a mental struggle as it is a physical one. So dealing with your emotions and doing your best to accept where you are right now and improving on that is what I am striving for.

anjalifit 04-05-2016 03:56 PM

Such a mental game!!! To be honest, I was out of control this weekend.. didn't log anything and too scared to check my weight. I'm back to square one again but i'm not giving up. Back to the gym tonight, and hello protein shakes! I'm doing the craziest thing at work now.. bought 5 pound weights and just been carrying them around with me to work out the arms! Hopefully some calories burnt during boring work hours.

Welcome merowi2... Hey as long as you get back in track you are fine! lol at girl scout cookies.. I would totally have done the same.. well I did something similar this past weekend with mango mimosas abd ut's now out of my system! Back on track!

anjalifit 04-07-2016 10:16 AM

Okay after 3 days of working out, I have lost that weekend weight I gained! All water weight of course. Back to my original 176.6 arghhh the .6 pounds. Day 3 of back to back working out at the gym. ohhh so sore right now! How is everyone else doing this week?

xopeaceandlovexo 04-08-2016 09:47 AM

LOL @ picturing you walk around with weights!! love it...you gatta do what you gatta do!!! I have been doing great this week :D this morning I was 190.5 I want to be into the 180s by next weekend!! Been doing ok with exercise, walking with the dog every morning and evening plus running around with him in the neighbors fenced in yard so that has been good but I know I need to add more than that. Its just a crazy busy month b/c we are moving on the 30th. Ordered Chinese food for BF last night and I stopped at the grocery store and made a salad which is a huge win b/c normally I would just say screw it...but I did have a crab Rangoon and that was enough to satisfy.

Good for you for getting back down this week!!! It is so hard to undo a few days of bad choices :nono: but at least you did it!! It always takes longer to undo than it took to do it lol :?: Hope you have a great day and weekend!!! I will probably be checking in cause we have a HUGE weekend of packing and cleaning going on soooo yeah theres that.

MM12 04-19-2016 11:44 AM
