Hello From Nebraska!

Hi there,

I'm new to this community but definitely not new to the weight loss challenges. I am 38 years old and have over 100+lbs to lose. Weight became a struggle for me once I hit 19. I have tried just about every single diet out there from Starvation, Weight Watchers, Jenny Craig, Atkins, Suzanne Summers, Soup Only, and so on.

I have had success on an off throughout the years but I am tired of the roller coaster ride and want off.

I believe I have a binge eating disorder combined with the fact that I am an emotional eater (both happy and sad). I also have PCOS so the deck is pretty stacked against me in the weight loss dept.

I have been dieting since the end of October and have been using the Lose It app. I am counting calories and logging all of my food for the day and working hard to stay under budget on my calories without starving myself though out the day.

So far I have managed to lose 14.4lbs by doing this. I am looking for support and friendship along the way as well as encouragement and inspiration as I know this will be at least a years long journey for me to hit my goal weight. And then a lifetime journey after that to keep it off.

So hello from Nebraska and can't wait to dive head first into checking out the rest of the boards in this forum!

:wel3fc: Oldsgal! Looks like you have a great start on your journey. This is a great community of people to help you with motivation, advice and friendship! I wish you much success. The best thing I have found is to keep coming back, weight loss or gain. We all have the same things going on and can give you that added encouragement or sympathy if you need it!

Hi, back at ya, from the Old Dominion State of Virginia!

Welcome Oldsgal! You're doing great! I'm just jumping back in to weight loss after taking about 4 months off. I still have a ways to go but I managed to maintain during my little diet and exercise vacation.

If you did Suzanne Summers then you're familiar with the hormonal and mineral deficiencies she's always talking about it. I believe her and I think that supplementing vitamins and minerals (along with finding a way of eating that works for me) is why I didn't gain a ton of weight back after I took it easy. The sugar cravings never really came back.

If you've been on a diet roller coaster, it might be worth it for you to look into supplements as well.
