I'm new and want friends!

So I'm at the end of my rope with my weight. I started a medication in July of 2013 that made me gain 30 pounds in 6 months. I've been stuck ever since. I haven't really tried with all my might to lose the weight. It just seems too big and scary. But today I'm brave.

How do I find friends on here? I know I'll do better with people I can relate to. And I'm a great cheerleader. I want others to be successful.

Help me break in!! Thanks

Hi SheaBDoll! :welcome: You might want to begin by going to the Support Groups forum: http://www.3fatchicks.com/forum/support-groups-122/. There are groups by age, by weight, by interests, even "Chicks Up for a Challenge," where you can jump into some accountability challenge threads. (Even the ones that are monthly, people still join all month long.) Some threads are more active than others, so just take a look at the dates of the last posts to get an idea. People are very friendly here, and we love newcomers, so don't be shy! Take a look around and jump right in! Good luck!

Hello, SheaBdoll!

Jacqui gives great advice. :) I'm pretty new myself and have found this place really friendly.

SheaBDoll - I'm here still! I need a cheerleader too and someone to cheer on :)

PS, I'm also on medications and have health issues that make getting fit a bit difficult at times. Great that we can help each other get through it.

Hi Shea! I'm a returnee but was pretty inactive before, so pretty newish myself. Everyone's been lovely! :dizzy: There is some great advice around. I have a lot of weight to lose and see it as a huge mountain as well. But I promise it's doable! :dizzy: Keep being brave and find what works for you

Hi Shea, sometimes big goals seem daunting... try setting some mini goals... like 4 pounds, or a pant size or something more achievable to start?

Have you started figuring out new ways to eat? small, frequent meals and snacks keep you from getting hungry and overeating.

Let us know how you are doing.

Look around the forum, there are different areas where you can find others with similar concerns/goals etc..

Good luck!

Welcome! I'm knew as well and I've also been on the medication made me gain weight train. It's so unfortunate that something we need has such a terrible side effect!

Best wishes!
