ok so my username lies!

back on the old diet again after another partial yoyo!!

will introduuce myself around the boards no doubt lol, i am a 40 something who is blessed with PCOS so weight has been a lifelong struggle for me!

last year around may/june time, I reached my goal weight with a glorious 6 stone weight loss! yay go me, around the middle of june I suffered a very plesant gall bladder attack (I am calling it an attack because i swear those pains were out to kill me!) so the trusty gall bladder was removed in july! i continued to maintain no problem until the end of september I went for a routine colonoscopy (because of a complication from the gall bladder surgery) during this they found two very large polyps. results from these were one was precancerous and the other had already made changes, thankfully no cancerous spread from within the polyp itself so comletely benign and threat gone, whoop!

so since then i have kind of been on a diet what diet kind of thing! till i got on the scales last week and :dizzy: a 2 and a half stone gain BOOOOOOO!!

So my journey begins again, started last week using a modified (DIY) weightwatchers, first weigh in this morning and a 6.5lb loss so I am pretty happy!

opps sorry this is so so long!

Hi, yoyono! Let's say your username is not a lie, it is aspirational! Anyways, welcome to the club, I am a chronic yo yo dieter. The key is to get back on the wagon before it gets out of control. I have never had a gall bladder attack, but anything called an "attack" must be bad. Had a kidney stone last year which was so painful but I actually lost weight with that, I had no desire to eat.

Also, just curious - exactly how much is a "stone"? I've always thought of it as about 15 lbs or so (american) but I don't know if that is correct?

Hi! I'm in the Midlands, and I'm also new here and doing weightwatchers (I'm doing it online). It's a horrible feeling when you regain weight that you spent so much effort losing, but you aren't anywhere near where you were and you're tackling it.

Aml0017 - yep, a stone is 14lb.

All the best xxx

:welcome: yoyono71! Many of us here have been yo-yo dieters so you are in good company of people who understand the struggle! I'm so glad you are healthy now, and since you know what it takes to lose weight, you have what it takes to do it again! Good luck on your journey!
