New Again

Hello. My name is Christy. This isn't my first time using these boards, but my son is about to turn 6, and it was before I was ever pregnant with him. I had some success back then, but then I got sick with a bad case of bronchitis and stopped working out, and fell off the wagon for the next 6 years. I'm currently in a divorce pending situation, and the fact that I will be a single mom soon, along with my blood pressure going insane back in November when I had an out patient procedure done and an aunt who recently passed away due to being morbidly obese have all given me a much needed wake up call. My town has a local biggest loser challenge each year, and this year I joined it. At the official weigh in, I was at 291. Not my heaviest overall weight....I remember at one point before I got pregnant I saw 304. But since January 3rd, I have been counting calories and exercising on an almost daily basis. I have dropped almost 15 lbs with this morning's weigh in being 276.8 Back when I was pregnant with my son, I lost weight, but I do not remember ever being in the 270s. So I know I now weigh less than I have since way before I can remember. I said I joined the biggest loser challenge, but in all honesty, I highly doubt I win the local competition. (Though a trip would be NICE!! lol) I joined more for accountability reasons. I know if I am part of a team that counts on me to carry on, I have less chance to quit. Not that I want to quit, I am pretty darn proud of myself for what I have done so far. I hope to be a pretty active member here and share my ups and downs with others who are fighting this same weight loss battle!
