Settling in for the duration
 

Good afternoon!

Started the journey one month and one day ago, the plan is to go from my original starting weight (250lbs) to a svelte 125lbs. Half the lady I used to be. I stand 4'12" in my bare feet, and have given myself the goal of a year and a half to do this in.

I'm in my late 30s, and to be fair, barring a short 30lb attempt 10 years ago never really let my weight bother me enough to actually do something about it. Now as I get older, and my doctor gets shriller, I'm going to buckle down and see if I can get back to where I was when the freshman fifteen ambushed me and brought friends, family and most of the neighbourhood with it.

Joining up here for conversation, support, general discussion and kvetching with people who 'get it'.

yeah, its 5'0. I have it listed as that in my profile blurb under my name.

The 4'12" is an old joke between some friends and I. It was a way to make me sound even shorter than I am, as the shortest of the group. I could have gotten angry about it, instead I owned it.
