You Weigh What?!?! And You Do What?!?!

So hello! I am new to this site. A friend of mine mentioned it in passing in a weight loss journal so I figured I would check it out.

I am on MyFitnessPal under ElizabethObviously.

My name is Elizabeth. I am 32, married with 1 kid.

I have a BUNCH of weight to lose. I have lost about 50-60 far. I want to get to around 150-175.

I LOVE to work out. I have done 3 5k's. My first one was a color run and I really enjoyed that! I did not run them because I could not really run! But it is most definitely a goal of mine, to run a 5k!

I have just started to get refocused starting October 1st! So far, I have not missed a day yet of working out. I enjoy doing DVDs at home, strength training, walking at the park. I will be starting T25 soon. I enjoy Turbo Jams, Richard Simmons (keepin' it old school baby!), Jillian Michaels and Rockin' Body with Shaun T.

And everyone likes knowing the numbers right? Well, my starting weight was 533. No not a typo. Crazy right?! Right now I am at about 480. My recent low weight was 468. Hoping to get over that focus bump and break past that!

And yeah, even at that weight I do those kinds of exercises! Sure I modify. Sure I may do it a little slower but I enjoy exercise and never let my size hold me back! Never let someone say you can't.

So yes....Hi hello hi! Hope to find my place here!

Elizabeth

Wow you're doing an amazing job!

And all the running and working out you're doing... I have yet to find an activity I really enjoy like that, but I hope to soon. Maybe hiking or snowshoeing or something...

Anyway, keep being amazing!

I just joined 3fc too, but it seems like a great place so far.

Welcome to the 3FC forums. I've only been here for a month, but I do find it a good way to keep accountable, get ideas, and find inspiration. I hope you find what you need as far as support here as well :)

You've made amazing progress so far, and it sounds like you're on the right track! Exercise is exercise and you should be proud of yourself for continuing with it and trying. A lot of people (including myself in the past) give up if they can't do a workout as the instructors do. Major kudos for keeping it up with modifications that fit for you.

Yeah, that's awesome! Get it done! I started Turbo Fire at my highest so I can relate. I'm glad I did because it has only made me continue to push myself throughout this weightloss journey.

You are my hero!

You are amazing and I started this forum stuff because I have a lot of weight to lose as well and find that I just don't have the motivation to do it... I need help as well.

Welcome Elizabeth and great job on the workouts. If you love exercising, the whole weight loss thing will be a breeze. It's tough for those people that hate exercising and just do it to lose weight.

If you enjoy it, nothing will stop you.

I love exercising too (and eating well). It's just a shame it took me nearly 40 years to work that out.

Exercise is "me" time and I like it because of that.

You are amazing!! :D I'm so pleased for you, you are doing amazingly so far and I know you will totally continue to kick butt! :D I have just enrolled at the gym. I hope I will enjoy it even through the strain xD Hugs and sparkles! <3 x

I do love to exercise but I also love pizza....which kinda puts me at losing and gaining the same 20 pounds over and over which is not healthy for my body or my mind.

My biggest problem is I will do awesome for a week or 2 and then hit a wall and start with the I could care less, pass the cookies thoughts. So far, since October 1, I have been doing okay exercise wise. I have done strength training and a DVD every day. But my eating and calories have slowly started going up. :( Not good!

IanG 10-10-2014 08:09 PM

Yep, you have to focus on that diet. It is very easy to eat more than you can exercise off. Personally, pizza is the worst for me. I have that just twice a year now - at most - whereas I used to eat it every week.

But make small changes to your diet. Start slow. One advantage of being at a heavier weight is that small changes really add up QUICKLY. Little things. One thing at a time. So if you eat pizza every day, try eating every other day and eat something healthier in between. Or stop drinking soda, if that works. Just steps that are manageable for you. Not crazy, big cuts or changes. Not yet.

Use the motivation of the scale from making small adjustments to your diet to make bigger adjustments. That's what I did.

The challenge is the small changes I made, may not work for your or anyone else. You have to find your own that work for you.

One-size-does-not-fit-all.

But you'll find one size that does.

You go girl!!

I love that you are excited over exercising! I wish I could do more, but due to lower back issues, all I can do is walk. Keep up the good work and the momentum that you have going! best wishes in your continued weight loss journey.

This place is great. I just about went overboard on sushi today and was feeling worried it might happen again, but just reading this thread and I feel like I'm back on track. You guys are all awesome.

As for pizza, I don't think you have to cut yourself off entirely, unless you think you do... But, by my place there's a freshslice pizza, and one slice is about 320 calories. So, yeah it means being a bit more careful with my other calories if I want pizza (because it isn't as filling as whole foods for me), but I don't feel like it's out of the question. I'm getting a bit better... Well I guess a lot better at restraining myself and just having one slice, or one sushi roll. Restricting my finances has helped a lot, so I only have limited cash on hand and no cards. But I'm not sure if everyone can do that.

Anyway, I believe in you. You're doing so great and I know you can keep it up!

WOW You are doing so fantastic!! That's amazing!! Cudos on all the exercising too. I mostly walk because of health problems and I've found I really like it, but I wish I could do more different exercises. Again, awesome work!!

That attitude is why you're going to succeed. You believe in yourself, so anything is possible.

What's more is you're going to meet people here who have succeeded in losing hundreds of pounds. It absolutely can be done.

I'm looking forward to hearing about your successes. :)
