Just saying hi :)
Hey All,
I have been a part of this forum on and off for the past few years and I am definitely most successful when regularly browsing the threads here - you are all so inspirational! Unfortunately, right now I am at my highest weight in a long time. I peaked at about 225 when I was a miserable sophomore in college. I dropped down to the low 200s after that and have been there ever since, with two brief visits to the low 180s. Recently, I hit 217. I think it is a combination of being incredibly stressed at work and I do believe my metabolism is starting to slow further because I don't think I eat as bad as I used to (though there is tons of room for improvement). I've been eating clean this past week (no processed food at all, kinda proud as I was ordering out and getting fast food 4-5 times per week) to help eliminate cravings, but haven't yet started watching portions. I also have been avoiding the scale as I can get overly restrictive OR easily discouraged when I am weighing myself constantly. This upcoming week I am going to incorporate some light cardio everyday (walk/jog a few miles at the track after dinner with my sister) and I am also going to try and bike 50 miles this week. I figure small changes each week are a sustainable way to reach my goal. I have a tendency to go crazy hardcore in the beginning and then give up so I am trying to keep myself in check. Anyone else have the same problem? Would love tips for sustaining motivation! |
