Re-starting! If I could lose a pound for every time I've said that...

Hi! I've been on 3FC before, but that was several years ago. I am desperately seeking new motivation for working out and healthy eating, and I love this site--so here I am. I am 5'8", and my weight consistently stays right around 200. My heaviest was 226, but I have lost a little the last few years.

Last year, I discovered CrossFit, and lost several sizes, but I still haven't gotten my eating under control, so the numbers on the scale are the same. Lately, I've allowed busy-ness and stress to even knock me out of workouts, and I've gained almost 10 pounds in 3 months!

My final goal weight is under 180, but right now, I just want to get under 195 again. I'm here because I need an effective kick start. So here it goes! ;)

Welcome to 3FC! Crossfit is a great way to get in shape! If you are dropping sizes, but the scale hasn't changed, then it sounds like you are building muscle while losing fat. That's a really good start to your future healthy you :)

If food control is an issue, as it is for many people, perhaps something like the Beck Diet Solution is worth considering. It's a book (available at libraries and Amazon) that teaches cognitive therapy for weight control. There are a lot of practical exercises that help make it very successful.

Good luck!

Thanks, Pattience and Suzanne! I will look up both of those books.
