Hi, it's Sheri!

Hello all,

I am glad to have found this forum. I have been on long term disability from work for the past year due to CVA (stroke) as well as recent Lupus diagnosis. I have been on many meds which helped me gain weight (I did not need this help) as well as a few that revved up my metabolism and helped drop a few. I am looking for support in dropping 20-30 lbs. I currently use NOOM and am enjoying this app, however, the application is smartphone only. :coffee2:

Hi Sheri and welcome,

I am sorry to hear about your health issues, but it's awesome that you are ready to try to drop the weight. I was diagnosed at 20 yrs old with systemic Lupus, due to having enough qualifying criteria. I was then told approximately 7 years later that I didn't actually have Lupus, because the autoimmune disease had reversed and all of my issues went away. So due to this, my rheumatologist told me it must have been some other autoimmune process. I am extremely thankful that I am well again. I believe my issues were caused by my job (I worked outside and was exposed to herbicides, pesticides and sunlight). I worry that it actually wasn't this, and that it was just a coincidence that it went away when I changed jobs. I fear a relapse, and having to have a kidney transplant.

I had a variety of issues when I had "Lupus". I had joint pain, fevers, rashes, kidney damage, severe fatigue, damage to my autonomic nervous system that has left me with an irregular heartbeat and depression that made me feel like I was just a disease. I also had fibromyalgia to go along with my issues. I understand how hard it is to manage this condition, and I applaud your efforts. I hope you stay with it, because I know that losing weight will at least help your joint pain. I know steroids don't make it easy... Best of luck on your journey!
