hi! i'm new here. :)

i found your forum while googling a weight-loss program i thought was strange. lol!

i've always been overweight. my whole life. even as a little girl. i have a very, VERY slow metabolism. so it's easy for me to pack on the pounds, regardless of what i eat. so i've really struggled my whole life.

then, after my first son was born, i got on the birth control shot, and i gained weight like CRAZY! i got off the shot (and had 2 more kids, lol!) but the damage was done. now i have to lose more weight than ever before.

plus, i have exercise-induced asthma, so exercise is really difficult for me. if i do any kind of exercise that causes my breathing to increase (you know, anything...) my asthma kicks in, and i have to stop. this has been troubling to me, and the only (ONLY) exercise i've found that works is walking. not too fast, not for a long time (no more than 20 minutes a day) but at least that's better than nothing.

so... weight loss is extra hard for me.

now, knowing all this, i'm proud to say that i'm down 11.6 lbs! i know that doesn't seem like much (especially since i have such a long way to go), but it's HUGE for me!

oh! and a bit more about me... i'm a stay-at-home mom of 3 boys. josh is 9, matty is 6 (and he seems to have the same metabolism trouble i have :() and cj is 4. i've been married to the love of my life for 11 years. and we have 2 cats and a dog. :)

Hi Becklynn :)

I'm new here too, but not new to weight loss! I also have a slow metabolism, I found that cutting out carbs & starchy foods and replacing them with greens and wholemeal products made my metabolism faster. You can also try drinking Green tea.

Congrats on losing 11.6lbs!!:carrot: That is a huge deal for anyone trying to lose weight, it must be even harder for you with the asthma but you are getting there!! Keep up the good work!

Welcome Becklynn....I am new to this forum too. I joined to threads 25 to 30 weight loss and 50 plus. I find it helpful to get on daily and post. What I did for exercise, mistakes, posts asking for ideas, anything to remind myself I am not alone and to keep going. Wishing you luck.

Hi Becklynn, I'm new too. I also have a bit of C.O.P.D with exercise induced asthma. I'm using my Wii fit and I love yoga when I'm not to fat to get on the floor to do it.

OMG that Depo shot is the Devil himself. I gained at least 50lbs fooling with that thing and Dr's refused to believe my weight gain was that stupid shot. Funny, when I stopped taking it I was able to lose 42lbs in a couple of months but that was 15 years ago now. Those shots were officially when I went from overweight to "obese." The effects on total body fat mass are long lasting I think. But I bet you still won't get a doctor to agree.

I think almost 12lbs lost is spectacular!Yay!!!!!! Please don't discount your hard work. Let's just cheer again!!!! Yay!
