New here and in desperate need of support!
Hi there,
My name is Kellie and I am brand new here. I used forum and support groups a lot in the past few years when I was dealing with infertility and miscarriage and I made some wonderful life longs friends and found awesome support. So, now I have my wonderful baby (a 15 month old girl named Hannah) and I am finally feeling ready to make that huge lifestyle change to get healthy. Some background on me. I am 28 and have battled my weight and food addiction most of my life. Because I was so athletic in high school things never got out of control but when I went to college it all changed. I entered freshman year of college at 125 pounds looking beautiful and in the best shape of my life. Fast forward several years and I am now 216 pounds and utterly miserable with myself. The past few years I have yoyoed up and down between 165-215. I am completely and utterly addicted to food. Its all I think about. I am super self deprecating and tend to crack jokes about my eating habits and weight in order to protect myself from anyone elses words. I just do not want this for myself anymore. I want to be happy and healthy again for myself mostly but also for my daughter and my husband (who has also gained weight but still looks good...men!). My goal is 150 pounds....but I would be happy with 160's too as I feel pretty good there. SO I'm looking for an awesome group of women that I would prefer to be fellow Momma's like me, as I think we understand the issues of time and feeling unable to dedicate ANY time to ourselves. Hope I find some great groups and somewhere that I can fit it! Thank you! |
Hi Kellie! :welcome: You'll find lots of support here, including Mom threads! Congrats on having your little one. Hannah is a darling name! Besides any Mom threads, you might be interested in the "20-Somethings" sub-forum under Support Groups, and I don't know what weight loss plan you're using, but you can check out the different plans in the Diet Central section. When you say you have a food addiction, that leads me to believe you probably have a quick-carb addiction (breads/grains, pasta, potatoes, sweets), so you might want to take a look at the low-carb weight loss plans. There is a lot to see and many wonderful, supportive people here, so browse around and jump right in! Good luck!
