I am so terrified to turn 40 and I have got to do something about this feeling I have! I don't even know where to start! But I guess I will start here... I have got to change my attitude! UGH... I AM RAMBLING....
  • I Turn 40 December 22 And I Want To Lose 50 Pounds By Then!
  • Welcome, CEWhite! You can DO IT. How are you planning to reach your goal? If you're interested, we've got a great group of folks over in the Beck Diet Solution thread, which uses Cognitive Behavior Therapy and goes along with whatever diet/healthy eating plan you choose ... it's not a diet itself, but a way of thinking to help you reach your goals. Good luck! One of our members just noted her year mark there, with a 50-pound loss!
  • you can do it CEWHITE1224, we all cheering you on, make small changes that you can do every single day to Dec.

one of the first small changes I made was to never put another soda or any artificially flavored or artificial sweeteners in my mouth. that was simple just water. ( and flavored water isnt water ^^) thats how I started
  • Hi CEWHITE1224! You are going to be fine and look and feel fabulous! You can do this and the many supportive people here will help you! Good luck!
  • OH gosh... Thank y'all so much.. I am in tears, I sooo need the inspiration! I am not sure HOW I am going to make it happen, but I am! I will definitely look for that forum! My friend/neighbor and I are on the same mission and have promised to do it together! She has joined a free "club" type thing, but I don't get off work in time to go.. So she is gonna share what she learns. I guess I will start with giving up my Dr Pepper... I hated the part where Shawk said flavored water is not water... lol, but THAT'S THE KIND OF THING I NEED! I am hoping to stay away from the carbs and drink lots of water... I have 2 young kids so exercising isn't going to be that hard.. We plan to walk the track at the highschool by our house at least 3 times a week... Thank you again for responding... I need the support!
  • Every small change will make a difference! I gave up fast food because its a major crutch for me. I gave up fried foods because they make me extremely sick after galllbladder surgery - but I was still eating them because they were comfort. How sick is that..I continued to eat something that would make me violently ill? CRAZY. I am already feeling better without those things. I didn't give up my diet soda (yet) but I will get there. We can do this!
