Ideal Protein/Just starting

Hi My name is Barbara. I live in NW USA. I am finally ready to get healthy. I am 49 now and will turn 50 in October. Plus this extra weight is hard on my body I can feel it... snoring, sore knees, high blood pressure, no energy, not counting the poor self esteem. So my focus for 2014 is freedom from food controlling me and creating a healthier body. I am 235 and 5-3. A healthy weight for me is somewhere between 130-150. But my first goal is under 200 by March. I have a major surgery to have done in March (rod my cervical spine from base of skull to shoulder blades) so getting under 200 by then is my goal. 5 hours under anesthesia is hard enough on the body. I have chosen Ideal Protein because it is what will work for me. I would love some support and give support. B

Hi Barbara, obviously I am new too, none the less I would love to welcome you and chair you on as you move to achieve your goals.

I was 226 and have now reduced that to 182. 7 more lb and a lot of toning up for me to do ^^.

Hi Barbara! :wel3fc: You'll get lots of support here! I have no doubt you'll make your 200-lb goal (or very close to it) by March. Good luck!

Day 1

Hi All!
Today was Day1 on the Ideal Protein protocol. I am excited! I feel like this should be pretty easy. I chose to have eggs (with mushrooms and spinach) for dinner and was curious if anyone else feels like 4 eggs+2egg whites is a LOT of food?
I have about 35 pounds to lose and I a look forward to my first weigh in to see what progress I have made.

I have struggled with food my entire life- up and down... I hope after working through the 4 phases I can find permanent healing.

Just wanted to say hello!! ;)

Hi AustinTexasChick, :welcome: Your enthusiasm is wonderful! I don't know if 4 eggs and 2 egg whites seems like a lot of food, but it seems like a lot of eggs for one meal to me, but then I am not on IP and don't know what is recommended. However, we have an IP sub-forum: http://www.3fatchicks.com/forum/ideal-protein-diet-236/. Maybe the chicks there can help you! Good luck on your journey!
