I'm almost 47 & have been married a long time. I eat too much & I know it, but I continue to do it. I also don't get any exercise in the winter, but I do swim almost daily i the summer. I TRY to eat right, but it never lasts very long. DH doesn't help much as he eats too much too.
What's so bad is - I used to weight almost 250 lbs, then I lost about 110 lbs. I did gain about 20 back fairly quickly, but kept most of it off for about 10 years. It wasn't so bad because after that initial loss, everyone said they thought I was seriously ill, that I was too skinny. I was younger then and it was easier, and I was able to exercise more & had more free time to devote to it. I KNOW it takes a lot of "work" & I don't have the time nor the devotion I should now.

I started to gain more back several years ago until I'm really uncomfortable again. I keep blaming part of it on my age, part of it on fibromyalgia (which really does keep me from doing a lot of exercising), but the truth is also I'm too busy in the a.m. with work and too tired in the evening. AND I like to eat what I want. Now don't get me wrong, I don't snack all day on chips, candy, cookies and lots of other junk food all day long. I don't drink soda's AT ALL, just water and when it's cold, hot tea with a bit of real sugar. I eat fruits, fresh veggies, salads, lean meats mostly and when I do eat "junk food", I try to pick out things that aren't as bad as others, like pretzel chips, yogurt, etc. I stay away from all artificial sweeteners & additives because they give me horrible migraines. I just love carbs/sugars too much to leave them completely alone.
So - that's the "medium sized" version of my story…. If anyone wants to be my friend & help with some support, I'd be happy to do the same for you. If you're still reading - thanks!

I have also have issues that affect exercise, so all I do is walk moderately. In the summer, I walk at a local park, and in the winter, I do Leslie Sansone indoor walking videos on youtube.
