Hello, everyone!

Hello!

I officially started my weight loss journey in August and have lost 40 lb low-carbing. I have hit a little roadblock because I feel like I'm losing my motivation and don't want to regress back to my old ways. I think part of it is that I can't see the difference. I know I fit into smaller clothes and can sometimes see the difference when I'm in front of the mirror but I feel that because I've been heavy for so long I don't know what to think now that I'm so much smaller! :(

My mom has had lots of health problems related to her lifestyle and I want to prevent that in my life if at all possible.

Umm I don't know what else to post here but excited to find some people who can offer some support. Family is awesome but they don't always understand why I feel the way I do.

You know it took me til I was about 55 lbs down til I actually fit into a smaller jean. Then almost every 5 lbs I noticed something. I really did not think I looked that different til recently. I actually have curves now and actually got called skinny by someone I had not seen since early summer who is super skinny and athletic so it made me feel good. I don't do low carb but clean eating and I was plateauing til I read an article recently. You might need to do calories if you are not already doing so. Anyways you have to vary your calories. Say 1200 for three days then have a 1600 cal for a day then back to 1200 for a couple more days. I found it got rid of my plateau and it is coming off steadily.

Try and focus on those other motivations like your health. Do you feel better at your current weight physically? I feel loads better health wise than I did 75 pounds ago. It also took me around 55-60 pounds before I started to really notice a difference in how I looked & how clothes fit. Hang in there! The rewards won't necessarily be instant but they'll be worth it!

I too started in August and have lost 40 lbs. I started at a higher weight than you and I swear 40 lbs hasn't made a dent in how I look. But I do fell a whole lot better. The little things have made a big difference, like being able to put the middle console arm rest down in my vehicle while driving. That in it's self shows I have lost inches. My ankles are not swelling anymore and my foot stopped hurting. Those things are keeping me going, soon I know I will see the change in the mirror. Keep going 40 pounds is a huge success we have done awesome!

Thank you everyone!!!! I appreciate all of the support. Catgoyle, I have noticed differences in my energy level, exercise ability, even my skin isn't breaking out like it used to! I have dropped almost three pant sizes so I know I've lost inches, it's just some days that I'm just not able to see it.
