New Here...!

Hello all I am new here. I am a 26 y/o wife and loving it. I found this site while googling about weight loss stuff. I have always been a big girl but in all fairness I have my daddies bone structure and even though he was 300 and some odd pounds you could easily feel his ribs. Well I am the same way I am tall and since I am trying to be more honest with myself. I am 6'3" and over 400 lbs. I have tried just about everything. My mom started me on diets with her when I was as young as 11 or 12. We did Atkins, this thing called First Place, Jenny Craig, Weight Watchers, extreme low carbs, ect. When I got married it was to a man who loved me as I was and that was great but I sort of lost my will to try to lose weight because for once I wasn't unmercifully picked on. Now I hate being this fat, and I hate the embarrassment that has come along with it like dreading when I go somewhere that only has armed chairs or weak furniture. :( I recently tried going vegan, vegetarian, and pescatarian I'd lose a little weight and gain it back and didn't understand why. I am here to talk to other people who might know my struggles. Also to hopefully get some wonderful advice. In any case can't wait to make new friends and learn new stuff.

Hi LuvinWifey! :welcome: Have you tried simply counting calories? Unless you have a medical issue, there really is no reason for you not to lose weight if you count calories. It takes discipline but it sounds like you really are tired of being overweight and can do it. Lots of people here use the myfitnesspal app to help them keep track of the calories they plan to take in through food and burn through exercise. Also, why do you think the many other plans you tried didn't work for you? Understanding that may help you to figure out the best plan for you now. Whichever weight loss plan you choose, I wish you the best! Good luck!

I will definitely try that app. I was a little slow and just recently started getting more into using apps for stuff. And I think I failed a lot as a kid because I didn't have control over what I ate. My mother bought food and her version of a homemade healthy meal was Hamburger Helper if that but usually she brought home fast food or whatever. When I got married I dropped some weight without thinking because I had more control of my food but then when I started working fast food and most of my meals came from there so my weight skyrocketed. Then when I stayed at home with my husband for a few years, and I did the whole vegan, vegetarian, pescatarian my husband told me that I might not be eating enough and send my body into shock or whatever and making my body think that it is starving myself and screwing my metabolism and making it go wonky. But I will download that app and use it. I also know I need more exercise in my life and have tried to find things I love which I did I believe I have a Zumba game for the Wii on the way and doing Pilates (need to do more of that.) :carrot::carrot::carrot:
