Introducing Myself
Hi, I'm new here. Happy to find a forum where I can actually enjoy being here and not get bashed. I have been overweight since I was 8. I;ve had high blood pressure since 15, Stroke at 30, diabetes(insulin resistant), and a heart attack at 45. I at my heaviest was 425 pounds. I lost over a 100 pounds in a year after my stroke. But the dr's say thats why I had my heart attack, due to stress. Now I'm stuck, I was just diagnosed with another health issue that is life altering......gastroparesis. I am totally lost. I cant loose any more weight. I need help. Anyone have any suggestions? Please, any thing.

Emmya, I am so sorry to hear everything you have been through! You are indeed emotionally safe here. This is a wonderful forum with many great and supportive people. I had to google gastroparesis, and I'm afraid I don't know what advice to offer you concerning a diet with it. I do hope you are getting guidance from your doctor and/or a hospital dietician. It seems to me that being able to lose weight is not going to be the problem. Eating foods that you can digest and that will provide you with the most nutrients is the greatest concern with this condition. If you have not been given a sound diet plan by your doctor/dietician, I hope you will keep looking for a knowledgeable professional to help you. It's extremely important. I wish you the best of luck!

emmya, :welcome:
I agree with Jacqui-D, since you have serious health concerns going on, it will be super important to get guidance from medical folks. You CAN do this, though, and we kind to each other, and support each other and are some of the biggest CHEERLEADERS you will ever meet. We know that we each come up against walls some time, but please don't hesitate to post and share what is concerning, bothering you. We are here for each other, thru thick and thin (pun intended) MrsKevin |
