Lurker coming out of hiding

I have been lurking for about a year, joined a few months ago, and am finally posting. I started this lifestyle change almost a year ago and sooooo want to lose 50 pounds on the one year anniversary. I thought maybe if I came out of hiding, it would give me the boost I need to lose the final 5!

Thanks all!

Thanks all! My anniversary date is late September! I don't know the exact date- isn't that awful?

I just remember seeing the "bingo" wings in the mirror and realizing if I wanted to be around for any future grandkiddos, I needed to take charge of my health. I had been borderline diabetic, bp was borderline high, and the cholesterol was inching higher and higher. Interestingly, none of those things made me begin the journey; it was the darn bingo wings!

My high weight was three years ago - topping out at 245. I lost some but never stuck to it.

This time just felt different. I have been counting calories and walking everyday. It was sooooo slow going at first but now I try to walk at a minimum of 5 miles a day. I have been looking at classes to take at a local gym but don't want to be that fat chick in the back. (Im only 5' 4" so still obese.)

I love this forum and have learned so much - the biggest thing being I am not alone!

Again, thanks!
