Hello Everyone!
I think I have finally found the right forum for me.
I have been on this roller coaster weight loss for over 10 years now. I was very fit as a teenager and well into my 30's. A not so good relationship and depression took over and I would say since 2004, my weight went from 135 to 195. Got back down to 150 in 2009, depression once again and it began creeping up in 2010. In 2012 I was 195! I am down to 180 and I am stuck there. I lose 10lbs and gain it back, lose it, gain it... it's such a battle. And food, sweets especially are the worst battle. I'm addicted. I eat for stress, sadness, happy .... whatever emotion that happens to strike me. I am currently on Bupropion (Wellbutrin) 150 XL for depression as Prozac stopped working. This is day 12 and I don't know how I feel. Everyday is different on this wacky med! Anyway, I hope to find the support I so badly need here. And hopefully I can help support those who are in need. |
welcome
i'm new here too and like you battling depression related weight gain and determined that this time i will persevere, i love this site and feel that it has tons of great advice from people who know what it's like the good thing is its still active with people of all stages rather than just people who are at the end of their weight loss road or i would feel intimidated theres no judgement here which i love here's hoping we are both successful with the right support :carrot::carrot: |
Thank you Big Girl.... it seems a bit overwhelming here. So many forums and so much going on :(
I don't know where to begin. |
I was on prozac for awhile (as well as a merry go round of other medications including one for seizures). After I broke up with my ex (ok, who am I kidding, he broke up with me) my severe depression returned in full force and I gained some serious weight. To make a long reply short:), I eat for every emotion under the sun. I'm proud of you for being here!

Hi Jazzii! :welcome: The good part about being on Wellbutrin as compared to the other depression meds is that Wellbutrin is not notorious for causing weight gain! :cp: Don't let the stall at 180 get to you. It's all a part of the weight loss process. Your body will adjust and you'll start losing again, but we have to get you back on plan and keep you there. This site is great for that! Browse around and see what threads interest you, and be sure to check out "Chicks Up for Challenge" under Support groups. There are lots of threads there to help you stay motivated and keep you accountable. Good luck! You can do this!

Welcome from another newbie! I hope you find all the support you need here. It seems like a super place to be!!
