Hey there, everybody!

Hi 3FC! My name is Jaimee, and I am 23 years old. I've been battling PCOS for 10 years, and weight loss for 3. I'm 5'2 and at my healthiest, most comfortable weight, I was 124 lbs. I'm looking to get back to that again! I am not happy with the amount of time I've been wading the waters, I need to get my butt in gear!

I am an avid MFP'er as well (jaimrlx).. but if anyone has had any experience with MFP, their boards are absolutely atrocious. I joined 3FC because I've lurked a few times and have always found an answer to my questions here. I hope you'll have me! :spin:

As for food, my goal is 1650 calories per day; sometimes I meet it, sometimes I go over it, often I'm under it. As for exercise, when I am working out (oops), it is a mix of cardio and weight training. A normal routine for me is ~45 minutes, and consists of a 15 minute run (treadmill), 20 minute weight session (machines or free), and then a 10 minute run/cooldown (elliptical, bike, treadmill).

I'm working on lowering carbs for the PCOS, but I don't plan to do atkins or anything. I want to eat a comfortable 90g or less.. I currently fluctuate terribly. I've been off my game for a little while now.

As for non-weight loss stuff: I run my own business as a pet sitter, work full time in an office, and am a full time college student. I'm super busy all the time, but I need to start managing my life better - weight loss can't wait any more than it already has!

I have 56lbs to go and that will get me to 75lbs lost! I hope to get a lot from 3FC and you all should be seeing my name around the boards

TL;DR just a hello from your new friend, jmeloses. Ask me anything you want!

Congrats on the weight loss so far!! :-)

Welcome! :)

Thanks everyone! :D

Do you have any pets of your own, or do you get your fill of that as a pet-sitter? And I can't even imagine how busy your days must get, with all you have going on! I don't do nearly as much during the day and I sometimes wonder how I even manage that, hah! But you're right, weight-loss can't weight anymore--I know that's how I feel about it in my heart.

Again, welcome!! :)

Thanks for the welcome!! :) I actually have 5 pets of my own! 1 cat, 1 dog and 3 lizards! My days are super busy, especially with a big move coming up! I might take a small breather here and there, but I will be absolutely disappointed with myself if I don't start immediately after that! :dizzy:

'There are no riches above a sound body.' That's my mantra, I just need to live it!

Edit: The cat in your picture is absolutely adorable. What is his name?!

fairandfree 08-07-2013 11:55 AM

You're welcome! :) I think especially with that big move a breather or three might certainly be in order (if that's the sort of breather you meant). Moving can be so stressful! I've found a sort of peace in my life-changes lately, even if things don't always end up going as expected.

Good mantra! Haven't quite figured out what mine is right yet, but getting up and going seems to be the base of it so I'm working from there.

And thank you! His name is Faramir (yes, named after a Lord of the Rings character). I love it when people notice how adorable he is! :D What are your pets named? And what kind of lizards?

I think so too! I am really starting to miss working out and being active, how good it felt to walk into the grocery store/gas station after the gym in my workout gear, get that nod of approval from everyone.. that felt awesome and in just 9 more days, I'll have that again! I am probably missing it because I can't have it right now :P All else though, I'm a friggin' mess! Just from this move/school/etc. WAH!

You'll figure it out! I've been doing this for far too long, maybe I need to change it to something more realistic... like 'get off your bum and keep trying.' haha.

That's awesome! Love LOTR. :D My cat's name is Jack.. but we call him Mufasa, Mimi, and Moof. My dog's name is Gus and he's a dachshund, so I call him Sugar-Ween, Wiener-Bean and Ween. My Leopard Gecko's name is Digit, and I have two Cresties - one named Seismo and the other Dex. I love Earth and all it's minerals! :carrot:

Welcome--and it certainly looks like you're on the right track. Keep it up!

Ha! What awesome names, it really gives your pets such character! :D

Yesterday I was trying to tell my boyfriend how I was starting to feel somewhat daunted and uninspired to do things like my daily walking and such, and his response was "you hiked up a mountain on Sunday!". I was tired and grouchy at the time so I didn't take what he said to heart, but... I've slept and feel somewhat less grouchy, and he was right! It might have been a small mountain, but that doesn't matter! It is still a big accomplishment.

So, yeah. Get up and go :) I think that might have to be something that I really always try and take to heart.

Once you get it settled in after your move.. especially the move.. I'm sure you'll be able to figure something out and really stick to it :D

Thank you Kscott & fairandfree! This community is proving to be so much more than MFP on a support level, and that's exactly what I need!

fairandfree: They are definitely characters! And you hiked up even a small mountain? Congrats! Get up and go, it's what we gotta do. I'm so worn out so I'm pretty grouchy all the time too :( It's nice to have someone understand! I added you to my buddy list, maybe I'll catch you online sometime & we can chat some more!

fairandfree 08-09-2013 10:13 AM

I did! Thank you! :D And yes, I've added you to mine as well so maybe we will run into each other for online chatting at some point!
