Need a Weight Loss BFF :)
Hello!
I am back on this forum after a long absence. :o During the time I was gone, I had 2 babies (and 2 c-sections) in less than 2 years, went through an extremely rough time in my marriage, and basically gained back all the weight that I lost, plus some. I am now officially at my highest non-pregnant weight, I'm disgusted with my body, and I need to make a change!!! I know that I need support with the process of making a lifestyle change again. I would love someone to check in with daily. We can support, encourage, and motivate each other. A little about me: 37 5'2 194.5 lbs :o wife, mother of 2 little ones teacher PCOS Type 2 diabetes If we have things in common or this is something that you feel you need as well, please let me know! I'm excited to start getting myself under control again. Dawn |
Hi! Welcome back - I just came back too. I gained back around 30ish of the weight I had lost which totally sucks because I was so close to being under 200 lbs!
I'd love to have a WL buddy but I don't have a ton in common with you, if that is what you are looking for :) I am 31, married, have two dogs, no children/plans for kids, and am a dental assistant. I don't have diabetes, but I know I am at risk because of my heritage and my Mom and Grandma are both pre diabetic. I've been back at counting calories and exercising for the past week and am feeling great! |
I AM 28 I am engaged I have a 7 year old son and a 8 month old little girl.

Hi Lizzy and Brandy!
Thanks for replying. I haven't been on this forum in awhile, so I'm not sure what is the best way to communicate and stay in touch.... Let me know how we can check in with each other daily! |
Some similarities...
Hi, Dawn! I just registered to this site after several months of looking for a positive support group - hope I have found it!
I'm 40, also a teacher (2nd grade), have 3 kiddos of my own, married for 19 years, have Crohn's disease, and searching for some weight loss buddies of my own. My goal weight is about the same as yours (145 lbs). I generally despise working out, although I will do it if I know I have a strong person who can push me when I'm down. I get very intimidated at the gym, even though I'm married to a former power lifter who has dragged me there as often as possible. Having Crohn's, I get stuck on a lot of meds that alter my physical and emotional state and I yo-yo between 180-200 lbs. at all times. I have not been under 180 since I was first diagnosed in 2006, when I was very ill, in the hospital, and lost about 40 pounds in three weeks! It was awful. My hubby had gastric bypass in 2003 and is very good about being in the gym 5 days a week. He's holding steady at about 225, so imagine how embarrassing it is that I'm just a handful of pounds lighter than him - however, I'm tapering off an 8-week cycle of prednisone for the Crohn's and I always pack on the pounds when I'm taking that stuff. We have our 20th anniversary next year, so my goal is very ambitious and I'd like to be there by the time we take a beach vacation to celebrate. I am looking for one or two good pals to help keep me motivated. I was running about a year and a half ago, and was really starting to lose a lot of weight when I got a stress fracture in my right foot and quit. Hope to talk to you soon! Welcome Dawn! I am a newbie to this site. Congratulations on the kiddos! I also have two kids (2 c-sections too) so I know the recovery period. Mine are 11 and 7 though. At least you are starting now, I got up to almost 300#!! You can do this! Would love to be a BFF ;)
